He is a talented player but as for best Midfielder in the League when fit? He doesn't come close. Many players I'd have over him to be honest. He has never really set the world alight where he's played (yes, through injury). We're moving forwards as a club lets stop looking back to things/players where it hasn't worked. Wish him the best of luck though and hope he comes good and proves his fitness.

It astonishes me that there is any debate to be had. The lad has a body made of glass and perhaps some psychological issues that are compounding his problems. In any event he clearly doesn't have a future at SUFC.

Because even piss-weak Nigel Adkins said he was pretty much faking it, hypochondriac style. I don't rate him as manager but I trust his judgement as a physio.

Presume you didn't see his post either?

I see a couple of possibilities given the player's obvious talent, and the reports I've heard from the U23s.

1, The bloke has a chronic propensity to injury.

2, The bloke has psychological problems.

They're not mutually exclusive and neither lead me to say he's weak of character.

Cant believe Man City signed Vincent Kompany ,or Wenger signed Corzola ,could they not see they would be injured ??
 
Really are some nasty fuckers about....I personally wish him well.

He's not a glass backed, lying hypochondriac who is happy sat on his arse.
He's a talented footballer who has devoted all his childhood and teenage years to football and who has then had a serious injury and then a crappy run of further injuries that have stopped him playing for almost three years. Anyone so desperate to get on with it is bound to be a bit mentally scarred after the run he's had.

Now if anyone had any idea about football, they would understand the gulf in fitness between a pro in league football and your average player who is deemed even very fit. The jump in fitness and strength levels is huge.
So expecting someone to just get back fit within a few months to the required levels (especially a central midfielder by the way) for the modern game just shows the lack of common sense some have.
Pre season is where fitness work is done and it simply cannot be replicated during the season.

If he avoids injury between now and September, plays every game wherever he is for as long as he can and then gets a full pre season....he will probably be back to 80% of the fitness he had before all this shit happened to him. And even then he could still be a little wary of his body breaking down again.

I hope in 3 years time he's back playing to a high level.

I'm sure you're right. But after a decade of my football club making rich men out of wank footballers, I'm not of a mind to issue any benefit of the doubt.

Whatever his excuse, we didn't even get chance to assess this example.

A disasterous, utterly wank, ridiculously expensive signing. Fuck him, sorry. :)

To be honest its been a failed experiment so far, he has looked good when on the ball but he just cannot last in games, he played against Macclesfield on New Years day but was out on his feet after 50mins and we were massively overrun

He looks too good when on the ball at our level ( as you would expect ) but imo he is no way near a return to league football and personally unless you are contributing massively to his wages then I would rather we got someone else in

Its a real shame but it appears his body has given up on him as he should certainly be up to fitness by now
