On nearly every match highlights videos I see (currently in Australia so obviously can't attend) there is always at least one person who jumps onto the pitch and celebrates with the players or simply just leaps the barrier. Some get taken away by the steward and some manage to get back into the stands.
Wondering what happens if you end up being taken away by a steward. My mate got taken away by a steward in the Australian A League and was banned from attending for the rest of the season. He was then given a final warning saying if he did it again he would be permanently banned.
Has anyone here been snatched or know anyone who has?
Does anyone know if it's a slap on the wrists or a form of ban?

Often wondered that myself; there were a few got carted off today. I avoid having to worry about such things by never going on, largely because my dad would kill me - he considers it Holy Ground you see.

talked to the kid who ran accross the pitch at bradford away earlier in the season (away end to side stand) and he got away with it and even emailed the photographer to ask for official pictures of him on the pitch

I can't understand why some fans want to run onto the pitch and celebrate with the player especially if there's a risk of being thrown out of the game or a fine or both. When we score I celebrate with those around me and generally just go mental.

My mate got locked up at derby I think it was, they lobbed him in a holding room at the ground m, fined him £80 and let him out an hour after the game so he had to make his own way back

Only ever been on the pitch once and that was at the end of Woody's testimonial in the 70s.

It surprised me to discover the goalposts were wooden and oval in cross section. I went across and took an imaginary corner down by the kop end.

That's my 'on the pitch' story.

The end.

He paid 'them'? That isn't a 'fine', it's illegal fucking robbery.

I'd gladly go to the nick rather than pay the fuckers. Fine, indeed. Bet it went straight into their special fund.

When Collins equalised against Scunny away a few season ago when we were down to 9 men. I forgot who and where I was I jumped over the wall onto the pitch side, remembered who and where I was almost instantly, shit myself & turned to go back over the wall but about 75 fellow blades had followed me and I couldn't get back. A very nice police officer accepted my apology and even gave me a hand getting back in the stand. That is my only field trip so to speak.

Cost him more than that because we went without him

It will have been a PND (Penalty Notice for Disorder). You pay the penalty with no admission of guilt, and therefore, no criminal record (but is recorded and revealed for a time in extended DBS/CRB checks).

I can see it now, we seal promotion at home, fans invade after the whistle, the west ham board dock us 20 points. :/
