Burton Albion and Barnsley have enquired about the availability of Sheffield United forward Billy Sharp #bafc #twitterblades #barnsleyfc

Er...................fk off Cloughy and Dingles as well :)

I agree.

Probably just bullcrap anyway. However, there will be players and the Manager linked to other clubs because we are doing so well

I can see teams sniffing around Wilder soon. I just hope he doesn't do a Warnock and leave us in limbo for a while or even worse leaves.

Whilst no one knows what the future holds regards our players and in particular our Manager, here's his quote in today's rag:

“I’ll accept the honour but only on behalf of those around me. There are great people at Northampton and that’s why I went over to acknowledge them. But, as everybody knows, this is my home. This, Sheffield United, is my club.”

:)

The rest is up to the board to ensure they support and back him, within reason of course

I reckon that those two clubs know what our fickle board are like, and are testing them....when haven't Utd sold our best player when we need to add to the team not lessen it

You can't imagine Sharp would just jump ship.

He's come back twice and must be desperate to provide some tangible success here in the form of a promotion.

I almost want someone to make an official bid just so Billy can say on record that has not leaving.

He will only leave us this time when he's no longer good enough.

I think that'll be when he retires. The good thing with Billy is that he's not going to lose much pace, so probably will have a longer career because he can still do a job as a poacher.

As for the bids. I am sure the board will be aware of which players that Wilder values most highly

I can't imagine Billy will leave this window. and I can't imagine CW would want him to leave.

In the unlikely event it happens I will cease supporting a football team and watch the darts instead.

He won't be leaving and the rumour doesn't say he's leaving. All it says is that two clubs have enquired. Nothing more

It would take a big club with much better prospects than us to tempt him. Barnsley and Burton don't fall into that category and his age means that a club like say Brighton, Newcastle etc. wouldn't go in for him so can't see him going anywhere.

hes said in the past he wants to finish his career here and is currently living his dream for us leading his boyhood club towards promotion, he'll stay here

Non starter.

No chance of him leaving until promotion is achieved at least!!

Come on.....Wilder will give Sharp one last season in the PL at BDTBL in 18 months time so why would either of them move on? :p

Players leave for one or more of several reasons.
More money.
Bigger club.
Better club.
The manager at a club.
To further his career.

Billy doesn't need the money.
Realistically there are obviously bigger and better clubs but Billy might not agree.
Not itk but can't think of anyone better to play for than a manager that makes you captain and gets the football love of your life to the top of the league.
Has been in the Prem so doesn't need it on his cv and won't do it for the hell of it.

Billy ain't going anywhere !!!

And so it starts.

Am sure the club and player can fend off Championship interest from these two.

But less sure if one of the genuinely bigger Championship clubs with PL aspirations comes a knocking.

UTB
"Hey........"

The Dingles approach is a cheap PR stunt for their own fans.

Whinall will leave and they can't afford a top championship goal scorer to replace him. If they make lots of 'enquiries' it makes them look proactive and ambitious and a post on social media costs nothing.

They know he won't go, Billy knows he won't go and we know he won't but their pig ignorant fans have no idea.

"Eye up Royston son, does tha know we're buying that ere Billy Sharp from t'Blunts? I know thas allus booed im, but he's a reet good poacher and I reckon eel score us t'goals to get us back in't Premier. We had one season there nearly twenty years ago, did I ever mention it?
