December. End the year with a win to take us up to top spot

December

Dec 31. Northampton Town (H) W 3-1

I can see United getting a win tomorrow and results conspiring to send us top at the turn of the year

End of Month

P 24 W 15 D 5 L 4 F 45 A 24 PTS 50 Pos 1

January

Jan 2 Bury (A) W 2-0
Jan 7 Southend United (A) D 1-1
Jan 14 Walsall (A) L 1-2
Jan 21 Gillingham (H) W 1-0
Jan 24 Fleetwood (H) W 5-1
Jan 28 Oxford (A) W 2-1

I think January will be a testing month, we will begin with a win at Bury before two testing games at Southend and Walsall seeing another mini-blip, before we grind out a win against Gillingham, turn on the style against Fleetwood and then get a win with a workmanlike performance at Oxford, and we will end the month with a narrow lead at the top of the table.

Feburary

Feb 4 AFC Wimbledon (H) W 2-0
Feb 11 Peterborough (A) D 2-2
Feb 14 Bristol Rovers (A):L1-3
Feb 18 Scunthorpe United (H) W 2-0
Feb 25 Bolton Wanderers (H) D 1-1

This looks our toughest month during the run in. Wimbledon will be another team to try and shut up shop and come away with a point but i think we will be too good for them. Peterborough away will be a tough game and i think both team will slug out a draw, and this will be followed up with a midweek defeat against a very handy Bristol Rovers side. The big result will come at home against Scunthorpe, and we will follow it up with a hard fought draw against Bolton and end the month top, but by a very slim margin, and with both Bolton and Scunthorpe struggling to overtake us.

March

Mar 4 Rochdale (A) L1-2
Mar 11 Millwall (H) W 3-0
Mar 14 Swindon Town (A) W 3-1
Mar 18 Charlton Athletic (H) D 1-1
Mar 25 Oldham Athletic (A) W 1-0

March will begin with a very tough trip to a under rated Rochdale side who are very strong at home and a defeat is on the cards, and we lose top spot and the fans begin to get a bit nervy. Millwall will be a tough game and it will take us a long time to break them down before going on to win well, and follow it up with a deserved win at Swindon. Charlton will come to the lane and threaten to throw a spanner in the works and we will come away with a draw before grinding out a one nil win at Oldham. We will be back in top spot at the end of the month, but with Scunthorpe and Bolton both starting to falter we will go in to the final month with it all to lose.

April

Apr 1 Coventry City (H) W 5-0
Apr 8 Northampton Town (A) D 1-1
Apr 15 Port Vale (A) W 2-1
Apr 17 Bradford City (H) D 1-1
Apr 22 Franchise FC (A) W 3-0
Apr 30 Chesterfield (H) W 4-1

A handsome win at home to Coventry will be the result that pushes us further clear at the top, before a draw at Northampton brings us back down to earth. A difficult night at Vale Park where we just shade the win will be followed by a draw at home to Bradford. The final away game will come at Franchise FC and we will go in to the game knowing that a win will secure promotion and take a huge following down there, and we will play well and seal performance and potentially the title with a good performance against a poor Franchise FC side, before we see the season out in style with a comfortable win against Chesterfield

P 46 W 28 D 11 L 7 F 90 A 43 PTS 95

So that is my prediction. The last 4 months will not be plain sailing but i think we will win the title, mainly thanks to a lot of spirit and team work and getting the results when things aren't going for us.

You give the kiss of death . Is it just fun . Not when blades are concerned it's not . Behave .

Worth a like for the effort that must have taken alone. Someone needs to bump this after the season's finished, just so we can compare :)

I'm still expecting it to be the play-offs, reckon we will do the usual and falter against the teams we are expecting to beat. You will to check back on this after the Chesterfield match and see how you've gone on, fingers crossed we are out celebrating tho!

I bet we don't lose more than 2 away from home. We're likely to lose more at home. I'd say we'll have 2 home defeats and 1 or 2 away defeats. Ever since the change to 3-5-2 we've looked very convincing away.

Oh dear, oh dearie me

Agreed. We've had an inordinate amount of bad luck away too, and got a lot of the tougher looking away games out of the way.

Some work gone into that, nobody will agree with all of it of course but generally, why not? Dont listen to the 'oh you've done it now' 'take one game at a time' mind you if we lose tomorrow I'm gonna Ave a reet go at yer for ruining our chances.

9000 blades leave the MK stadium after missing the chance to clinch promotion and hear of a late winner for our closest rivals....

A Ched Evans last minute winner keeps chezzy up and consigns the blades to another playoff and inevitable disappointment.

Managing my expectations....

McCabe sells Coutts and Fleck for a combined total of £500,000
Duffy gets a career threatening injury (well he's decent and he plays for us)
We slip out of Promotion places
We slip out of play off places
Wilder gets fired

Surely the tossers upstairs have learned something
Couldn't possibly happen could it ?

I predict it will contain 23 games and we'll get results in all of them, Happy New Year one and all :)

It will hinge on luck.

Lose a couple of key players with long-term injuries and we could be in trouble.

All Depends on if key men Duffy and Sharp stay fit and if we make two or three sensible signings in January.

If all that happens I firmly belive we will go up.

If they back Wilder adequately in January then I've got no doubt we'll go up.

It will hinge on luck.

Lose a couple of key players with long-term injuries and we could be in trouble.
We seem to have the propensity to always foretell doom and gloom
Come 3 o clock we can be on 50 points
needing 15 wins from 22 to ensure promotion on 94 points
sounds well do able to me

ask yourself , can this team win 15 of the upcoming games left
its hard to say no
