EEL lives in Wolverhampton area, drives up and down from what I've heard.(with Clarke) No big deal if is doing some sessions down there. We've had loanees before that only drove up to the games and trained with the employer. Hopefully he's not recalled, but there are surely other trees to bark. Dan Burn on the bench at Wigan.

If we have someone else lined up then that would be fine and very understandable but i'm hoping we aren't doing it for Wolves' sake, lets look after ourselves for a change.

I really like EEL and he is very effective for us in L1. In particular he gives us strength in the air which I don't think we get to the same extent from Bash JOC and Wright. However I am not totally convinced he would be as effective in the Championship. The ideal would be if his loan continues until end of season and we can then decide whether to try and buy when we know which league we are in next season. I am sure CW would by then have decided if he is good enough for the Championship or whether we need to look elsewhere.

We don't play until boxing day, and he is only at Wolves for a couple of days. Their tweet even states "before he returns to sufc". If there is any chance of them recalling, this suits us.


Considering we don't seem to do much defending at home, I can't see how we couldn't cope for a short time without him/his replacement.

He has gone back for a couple of days. Their official tweet says he is coming back to us. He is their player so we can't stop him going to see them. You never know,they might be asking EEL what he wants to do.

In my opinion he will play in the games between now and the new year (if fit !! ). I suspect Wilder will know by now whether or not we can keep EEL to the end of the season

Fairly sure I read somewhere that a decision will be made on 31st December, presumably after the fixtures have been played. As I said earlier the main thing is that this timescale is honoured either way, if however we can get a 'yes' earlier than this (based on this few days in training at Wolves) then great. If however it's a 'No' on 31st then I expect phones to be ringing on New Year's Day, 2nd at the latest.

You've got to feel sorry for the management and board in situations like this. Some on RS were saying that we should pay 'whatever it takes' for EEL. Do they mean £1m? £2m? I think we've been down this road with Brayford. I think EEL falls under 'Okay' and it's obvious both he and our style have benefitted from his presence, but it won't be a disaster if he goes or a failure on our part. Wolves are a similar-sized club to us and a division higher. Maybe EEL will buy into whatever Lambert tells him and he'll be gone.

Replacement? I think we've got a very strong bargaining hand for McFazdean at Burton. Brayford is out on loan there and we could use McNulty as a makeweight (if Clough wants him...)

With him - and Ched back in January - get the bunting ready.

CW, go and get somebody else because we don't want somebody who is in two minds of who he is supposed to be playing for, Wolves are no bigger than us no matter what the division they're in and let's not let them make mugs out of us. I've never been more sure that our manager knows what he's doing but i'd still like to know some answers or suggestions to the questions asked. Let's not let anybody fuck with us Blades, this is our year.

All season loans have a clause allowing the parent club to recall in January if they wish. We have the same option on McNulty and Brayford. I assume we’re letting Wolves have a look at him nice and early so they can tell us early whether they will recall or not so we’re not in a situation where he goes back unexpectedly in the last week of Jan and we’re scratching around for a replacement like when Spurs shafted us over Kyle Walker.

He did however have a shot at our goal, away at St Andrew's, first game of the season in 2008 when he came on and scored the winner in injury time.

That proved to be highly significant, because we finished 3 points behind Brum and a 0-0 draw would have seen us level on points with a better goal difference, so we'd have been up automatically. Never mind

I don't buy into this whole "he's replaceable" bollocks. Of course there's better defenders than him out there, but will we get one? Nobody knows, but considering it's taken us 4 years to replace the replaceable Maguire, I wouldn't put your mortgage on it. We'd be a lot better off if we don't lose him.

I couldn't agree more, some people seem to have short memories! I think Wilder would admit that not all of his signings have come off the way he hoped. That's not a criticism, that's football.

Good clubs hang on to good players. If it ends up being out of our hands then so be it but replacing him would certainly not be a formality.
