Whichever way this goes I don't see Wilder being caught napping, we just need a quick decision from Lambert, that is all.

EEL is good but very replaceable imo. Would love us to sign Webster in any case.
isn't he injured though?

Will we get compensation from Wolves if they do recall him? Because the original plan was for the end of the season so it will be an inconvience.

Wilson/O'Donnel/Wright/Basham/Semple we have enough in numbers, but will miss EEL's headed clearances and goals the most. Wilson played well yesterday. If he returns to wolves will get another in i'm sure.

that Daniel O'Donnell is surprisingly good at CB for a singer.

How about this as the players come onto the pitch

When we got him all the Wolves fans were saying he'd be a good CB for a bottom half of the table Championship side

I expect they foresaw how their season would go and wanted us to give him match practice until they got into position

I don't buy into this whole "he's replaceable" bollocks. Of course there's better defenders than him out there, but will we get one? Nobody knows, but considering it's taken us 4 years to replace the replaceable Maguire, I wouldn't put your mortgage on it. We'd be a lot better off if we don't lose him.
totally agree. clears it up at the back, scored 5? goals in 18 and we think we can do better having just spent years proving how difficult it is

So what's this Webster like then?

Well if you ever went to the Limit Club, or Roxys, back in the day, you would know it needs to be avoided

Tufty isn't scouring the market or anything else at this stage. That's been done. He thinks ahead. He knows exactly who he wants in a number of positions.

Yep I'd agree with that. Here's hoping at least.

The official Wolves twitter are saying he's back there for a couple of days for Paul lambert to run the rule over him, in my opinion should Lambert decide he's ok to return to the lane until the end of the season that gives us the green light to get him permanently. Lets hope he doesn't like what he sees.
Five I'd be more worried about losing , in order;

Fleck, Moore, Sharp, Duffy and Coutts.

Could even make an argument that Jake Wright is less dispensable than EEL.

Don't want to lose him , he's a good fit, wouldn't be held to ransom though.

He certainly would be a huge loss, anyone who saw our defending of the corners and long throws in the Bolton cup tie could see how much his presence was missed.

There is another knock on effect.. Limited resources mean that having to sign a centre back replacement could mean we don't have the funds to bring Evans back at the other end.

I think he would be a huge loss if he went back and I think we would see so in results personally. Agree others have played well and Moore, Coutts, Fleck, Duffy and Sharp all very important players but this lad has dominated aerially, give us a physical threat we had missed and made sure we are not a weak touch (big issues last few years). He has imposed himself on strikers and allowed the other defenders to do the bits and pieces. We were shipping goals all over the shop before he came in and I would be fearful it would be the same if he went back (see Bolton cup tie). Hope I am wrong but we need to go all we can to keep him till the end of the season. Dont see his type of player readily available elsewhere and likes of Webster would not do the things he does.

I think it could be a big moment in our season if we lost him.

We need a centre back (preferably EEL) a winger with pace and another striker in the window if we want to consolidate in the top 2.

How the flying fuck has this come about when we've got the big nob fucker until the end of the season?

Are we doing Wolves a favour sending him back and if so why?

Is there something i'm missing because he is supposed to be ours until the end of the season?

How come you can recall a player before January in any loan situation?

CW, go and get somebody else because we don't want somebody who is in two minds of who he is supposed to be playing for, Wolves are no bigger than us no matter what the division they're in and let's not let them make mugs out of us. I've never been more sure that our manager knows what he's doing but i'd still like to know some answers or suggestions to the questions asked. Let's not let anybody fuck with us Blades, this is our year.

Wolves will have put the stipulation in that they can recall him in January, and there would be no point being arsey and not letting Lambert have a look at him, because then he would recall him on principle. This is better all round, because I guess it will give us more notice on needing a replacement if its needed.

I think we should be huge big booty arsy with them. We owe them over McDonald.

Cheers for the reply mate and I do get what you're saying, it would be the sensible thing to do, but it's still December and we have two more games before EEL should be aloud anywhere near Wolves again. I think it's shit from Wolves but I suppose if they can get away with it they will continue to do so.

EELs a good stopper but nothing special,if he was !! Wolves would take him back in January being in there precarious position.
He does seem to be part of a good team spirit and also said he wants to stay until the end of the season.Hopefully we will keep him but I think
CW will have someone else lined up if he goes back to Wolves.A lot of season long loans can be reviewed in January this is obviously one.

Basham - Wright - O'Connell untill EEL's replacement is found isnt TOO bad .... is it ?

So unless he returns until the end of the season we won't have him for the next 2 games?
Which means we go with what we have for now?
The strikers better have their shooting boots on because we're going to need more of the chances to go in.

Hope you don't mind, but had to alter it a bit.

We should also look beyond L1 - fans should ask why Wolves are getting rid when he played 20+ games last season.

Good in the air - suspect on the deck.

UTB

That's a fair point, he is very effective at this level but seems more ordinary at championship level , based on the opinions of Wolves supporters. If he stays and helps us finally get up then brilliant but I trust Chris to have someone else lined up if not.

We have him until Jan at least

Wolves can only recall him in January

All year long loans have a recall clause in January. Lafferty could go back to Burnley. We could take McNulty back.

That would be nice, but unfortunately we need their player, they require nothing from us.

We don't play until boxing day, and he is only at Wolves for a couple of days. Their tweet even states "before he returns to sufc". If there is any chance of them recalling, this suits us.

Considering we don't seem to do much defending at home, I can't see how we couldn't cope for a short time without him/his replacement.
