Bury away ?

Hiya boys and girls...just need a bit of help and information regarding bury away....I'm thing of taking my twin lads who are 7yr old to the match on 2nd it'll be there first away game so just wandering best way to get there on public transport ie..away blade coach or train?
Look forward to your replys on how your getting there and it will give me an idea of best thing to do,cheers peeps.
 



Bury has no trains, only really crappy trams that refuse to integrate with any other transport
 
If it was me I would drive tbh. it's going to be cold and they're going to get tired .

Second choice would be a coach trip and more fun for them as an away day as part of a big gang.

Train will be a bind then a tram then a 20 minute walk to the ground.

The Handsworth Supporters Club bus might have spaces left. Always my preferred mode of transport. Only 15 quid.

Official coaches best at that age. Also generally parked up bang outside the ground. Downside is an early start and you get there early with usually only a pub to go too.

Oh, and depending on who's marshalling the coaches, you aren't allowed to laugh. And don't sit near the back if you get on the same coach as the Sheffield branch of Frank Gallagers family and friends.

In fact, drive!
 
I love Bury. Old fashioned ground. Genuine people, Best Black pudding around and other good food around the place. I'd drive though because I'm selfish and reckon its a quicker escape back with your kids listening to or watching what they want.

I've been on Facebook and joined Handsworth Supporters Club group but both bury coaches are full but at least I'm joined up and sorted,going to try and get on blades away travel,thanks for info anyway lads.

For future reference, they usually start taking bookings 2-3 weeks in advance of the next away match, which they announce on the page. Just write a quick post saying how many spaces you need. It's Steve who deals with the bookings.
Prices are very good. The most I've ever had to shell out was £25 and that was to Charlton.
Buses depart from the Cross Keys on Handsworth Road.

Nice 1 TD I've had a quick nosey around page so I get the gist of it pal and may well sort sumat out for Walsall,cheers again TD
 
I'm going to go with Brownie Jnr who is also seven, and take the train over, and spend a couple of hours in Manchester first.

Last season when we went to Old Trafford we did something similar, and had a couple of hours in the football museum. I'd recommend doing that as you can also spend a bit of free time looking round Manchester and making a day of it.

I've took my boys to Grimsby pre season and scunthorpe but drove both times but this time boys want to go either coach or train so going to sort sumat out.

My boys live in Winteringham a little village between scunthorpe and hull,so we'd be getting the trans pennine from scunthorpe to picadilly,I've looked at train times,prices etc,only thing that puts me off is the tram/metro to and from Bury from picadilly and if it's a lot of messing about?

It is about a 20-25 minute walk from the tram, the connection is straightforward enough from Piccadilly Garden, and i think I'll be there for about 2 to give us plenty of time to walk down, although the walk down will probably end up with me and Brownie Jnr walking down playing Pokemon Go......

Sod it think we'll jump on train and see ah we go,bound to be other blades travelling by train,so hopefully less chance of us getting lost,lol.
