Genuine question, if it's 'NOT the football side, it's the old plc which owns the ground etc.', what relevance does it have? We aren't the only team playing in a rented stadium so unless they have a major hike in price, how does that impact us?
Sounds to me, and I'll admit to having no fucking clue about accounts, that it's just Sheffield United A taking a hit for Sheffield United B, who'll be moving cash around to keep us afloat.
If I'm talking crap, please explain why as you would to a 14 year old because that's about the level and interest I have in company accounts. I just want to know if we're in the shit.
Pretty much it's McCabe that's in the shit. I've no idea about Scarboroughs latest results but - as you say - the old Pkc loses money every year and will continue to do so as things stand. It's effectively written off £4million of its investment in Blades Leisure Ltd I believe.
I expect BL/Football club to have lost money and McCabe has already said this after his "£4m each" which hints at losses of up to £8m there again but we'll have to wait and see.
Also, contrary to the "he's nicked the hotel" or "he bought the hotel for a quid and left us with the debt" charlatans, he's funded millions in losses in the company that owns the hotel and looks like he may have to continue doing so. He's also written down the value of it as well. (He did, despite daft claims he didn't, took an equal amount of debt when he moved the hotel out of SU's accounts.
So he's in the shit although nothing that would affect his wealth too seriously. The problem would be if he calls a halt to the funding and the Prince or someone else, doesn't come up with the goods.
Things aren't rosy really but they'd be pretty bleak if it wasn't for him.
I still think him and HRH will let Wilder spend in January though.
