The importance of a win on Thursday

We have to keep winning, apart from their game against Scunny on New Year's Eve Boltons League fixtures are ridiculously easy until the end of Jan. However they have to come the Lane as do Scunny.

It's still in our hands, but we can not afford many slips ups.

Win 5-0 and we go top I think. Anything less and we should join the Coventry fans and revolt
Mate I'm going without shoelaces so I'm the first in the carpark if we don't get a result.
To be honest once we get the first we always look like getting a few more now which is refreshing.
I can't see 5 but I can see us pulling off a 3-0 here.

After watching Bolton tonight my hope is that we can keep within touching distance of them throughout the season whilst hoping Scunny start to slip up . I just can't see Bolton fading and they are in the habit of winning games .

As an aside though ..... that's twice I've seen Bradley Dack this season and he's absolutely awful . What the fuck has happened to him ?

Agree about the schedule of fixtures, they do have it a tad easier for a while. The killer for them could be January though, still under a transfer embargo and almost certain to lose Clough and/or Vela. That would screw them over big time because without those 2 they lose an awful lot of creativity. Their local rags also saying they have lined up a young midfielder from Liverpool on loan, so it seems like they are resigned to losing one of the above.

Let's not be too concerned by this evenings result. Gillingham were very poor.

I fully expect Bolton to be our main challengers for the title. Assuming of course they don't go into administration and end up being docked points.

We need a good win on Thursday. Coventry should be similar fodder to the likes of Gillingham.

Its already looking a three horse race. How scunny go over xmas will dictate whether it stays that way because I dont forsee either us or Bolton dropping points regularly enough for bradford and those below them to catch up.

Id have no issue whatsoever in a straight title chase with Bolton secure in the knowledge that 2nd is the worst likely outcome.

Bolton could well be our main threat but of the other top 3 around them they have only played us and Bradford at home. They have Scunny to play home and away and visit Bradford then us in February. Let's not worry too much about them at the moment. They are on top form like we were 3 or 4 weeks ago. Hopefully we are getting our form back now. A long long way to go yet

It's not like they dominated the way we have but they have been far more economical with their finishing.

They coughed up more of the ball than they had compared to us dominating 60% on average in recent times and they created only 80% of the chances having half as much on target.

I do hope it will not be a repeat of 2011 where a team not paying their way prospers.

Not only did we get the win, we couldn't have done it in a more disheartening way for our rivals . Some serious pressure on Scunny and Bolton this weekend, well done Blades!
