Best new stadium you've been to?

Amsterdam Arena is incredible. Looks like a bloody spacecraft from outside.

Pride Park is okay.

Can't think of any other nice ones I've been in.

The Colosseum originally had a retractable roof

not cantilevered in the strict sense of the word but there was nothing to obstruct the plebs' view of the Lions v God Botherers. Perhaps they found the original drawings South Essex?

Sliding seating over the chariot track, perfect for them Hammers. Blowing bubbles is a great defence against lions.

Would you like to see United move to a new stadium? I wouldn't. I don't think any of them have the same feel as the traditional stadia. I'd like to see us turn the kop into a two tier (lower level all standing) stadium with 40,000 plus capacity though. It may happen when we get to the Prem?

I seriously think Wednesday will quit Hillsborough if they get to the Prem. 100% certain.

They will build a mega stadium in the east end and become the West Ham of Sheffield.

Britannia for me. Like how the away end isn't rounded off. Its not just a 'bowl' like Ricoh, MK Dons, Majeski etc.. Also, it seems to generate so much noise. Its horrible when Stoke score.

Hate the Britannia. Horrible fans, horrible journey to middle of nowhere, horrible police force and a horrible ground. Apart from that I agree.

They're all uniformly shite in my experience.

If United are ever fucking stupid enough to abandon Bramall Lane, I can't see myself ever setting foot inside whatever new construct gets concocted.

Been to most of the mentioned ones.
Thought Millennium was crap.
All the others good.
It seems fashionable to dislike Wembley but I think it is great.
New York Stadium is fantastic.
I'm sure most knew that the Olympic Stadium would be crap for football but with out a doubt it had the best atmosphere of any sporting event I have been to.
How old is The Stadium of light?

Most new grounds are awful, Hull's is as boring and concrete as you can get, Ricoh is terrible. MK finally has seats in the unused top half, but it's still rubbish. St Marys and Pride Park did at least try to be proper football stadiums and Rotherham have gone for a mini-Emirates feel.

When Stadium of Light was built they just looked at a picture of Old Trafford at the time and said "I want that one"

If the Kop was rebuilt with two tiers it wouldn't really be a Kop anymore.

Old Trafford copied the Stadium of Light.

New grounds aren't my thing, but Stevenage and Burton are decent (both of which I think are new grounds).

Worst one goes to Coventry, hands down.
Stevenage and Burton are absolutely fucking rubbish. No redeeming features, poor locations.

All about opinions though :)

It looked like stone rather than concrete the last time Bert was there.

I choose them because they have standing. Not sure how old Fleetwood's ground is but I like that too.

I hate the 'bowl' stadium effect. So that rules out Coventry, Leicester, Derby, Saints, instantly.

The Amsterdam Arena is my favourite big ground experience but, of the new English ones I've been to, Bournemouth's is my favourite because it seems that they pulled the old ground down, turned it around and rebuilt it.

New York Stadium is actually ok for a new build, when I go to stadium MK I almost feel like I expect to see relay runners, running around the edge of the pitch. Chesterfield's ground is ok as well.

They are all better than "The Sty", put it that way, what a shit hole.

See what I mean? The only ground in the country where you wipe your wipe your feet on the way out

Volkspark Stadion (or Nordbank Arena when I went).

Why?

- 10,000 standing area that moved as one
- Bloke wandering around the terraces with a beer barrel on his back actually trying to sell you German lager during the game
- The best pick and mix selection I have ever seen at half time to follow the biggest pretzel I've ever seen (and I've seen a a few!)
- A roof and structure that kept the elements out
- A mix of transport routes to get you there that meant everyone wasnt crushing for the same train or bus
- Fan bars (run by fans) that sold lager after the game to stagger the rush home
- Enough gates, stairs and access routes to get you from the fan bar, pretzel area, pick n mix selection point to your seat or terrace swiftly.

Only thing wrong with it?

I wasnt watching United... That day will come brothers and sisters that day will come...

Emirates is quite impressive!
Walkways spacious and was easy to get out after a game with nearly 60,000 attendance.:)
But not quite so easy to get on to tube afterwards.

Wembley is a magnificent feat of architecture but as a football venue it's appalling.
I agree with you about Wembley - its awesome to look at but as a football view its hit especially when put in the higher areas and the atmosphere is also crap.

Got to be the New York Stadium for comfort and views along with the Emirates

I prefer the Millenium to Wembley it is just a pity it is in Cardiff but at least you can go in the City centre for a drink or have a wander round the castle then 5mins walk and you are there. By contrast Wembley is a right shithole with nothing any good nearby. Better view and much better atmosphere at the Millenium, feels closer to the pitch.
I agree
Everything about wembley, and especially its surroundings,is shocking!!
millenium stadium knocks spots off it all day for me
