Any of you remember the above incident that ended in Flynn having a broken leg? I was told Eddie Colquhoun was furious with Hales and told him after the match "I will sort you out at the Lane!". Not long after that match Hales moved to Derby and didnt play again against Colquhoun.

We lost 3-2 in that match at Charlton despite leading 2-1 at half time. Chico Hamilton and Jimmy Johnstone (his last match for us) were our scorers

If you're going to do it, just do it, don't say you will but make sure there aren't any witnesses.

Not sure what you mean.

I remember reading a post in SUISA about that incident and it seemed to be an off the ball incident and John Flynn refused to answer when someone asked him about it 16 years ago

Can't remember tbh silent,I did go to the match a couple of weeks before that tho, away at forest and they battered us 6-1,when Clough senior started working his magic on them
King Keith joined us that season and started banging em in towards the end of the season, including 2 against forest at the lane

Keith already played a few games for us in the previous season. His debut was in the FA Cup match at Leicester in January 1976

Bert was at that game, for some long forgotten reason he was sat in the directors box,
although Bert seems to think that Forest weren't run by directors in those days, more of a committee.

Remember this match as it was my first ever away match....and we had to stand in the Forest terrace..... Nightmare

Not surprised that John wouldn't talk about the incident. He is one of the most unassuming players you will ever meet. Hates any attention brought to himself and I'm sure he would never say a bad word, at least in public, about Hales.
