I should coco
A little harsh on a well meaning body of men
I'd have Dave Bassett on.
He's a right miserable sod these days.
Somethings are just better left as great memories.......

It might sound like heresy, but I doubt anyone tops Tony Currie in the miserable sod stakes.
Daughter and her boyfriend both work for Compass in the hospitality at BDTBL an they would absolutely agree with this.
You'd have thought that after the Housemartins had played on a special John St stage and Brian from Corrie had turned up and done a few somersaults, he might have been a bit more grateful.
Surprised at the feedback re Keith Edwards. I think he sums things up really well and I enjoy his sense of humour too, which is certainly needed when following united over the years! Kevin Gage is a quality pundit no doubt about that but for now I'd definitely stick with Edwards.
I recall David Holdsworth doing it occasionally but can't remember how good he was. He's one of my favourite ex players but that doesn't necessarily maker a good pundit.
Great day out, I remember when Woody came off the pitch, he got a standing ovation (of course) and there were grown men welling up, tears in their eyes
When it comes to miserable, Woody, great player that he was, was the most dour, taciturn, miserable sportsman I've ever met. I think he was quite shy and probably not the brightest. Social skills not a strong point.
I can think of some good alternatives though. If Warnock ever retires, I'd love to see him as the expert summariser.
I normally like him, as he's obviously a passionate Blade, wears his heart on his sleeve, and is always good for a bit of banter. But yes, maybe he should tone it down about the old days. Football tactics have changed, and what he sees as "basics" are not always right. Last night he was saying something along the lines of "defenders should stick to defending, strikers should stick to attacking - they shouldn't try to do each other's job". While true as a very general rule, this can't always always be applied to every situation, and last night we shoould and did throw everything but the kitchen sink at the opposition, rightly imo.
On Saturday he was criticising (albeit tongue in cheek) a Shrewsbury player for wearing gloves. Then he made a serious point that players should never wear them, whatever the weather, which is bollocks imo.
As I said, I like KE and wouldn't get rid of him,. He's been a fixture on Blades comms almost from the beginning of the Internet era. I'm always disappointed when he's absent from a commentary. But I admit, he does talk some bollocks at times. Like Ranmoor said, he's going to take a break of a few month soon due to a hip operation, so they may well have a replacement lined up.

For the sake of all that is right with the world please no. More personal wankings on from the self centred one isn't what is required.
Slight digression, but I'm with him on gloves. Why do outfield players ever need to wear gloves? Are your lickle hands cold? Run about a bit more then, and don't be so nesh. Don't remember Chris Morgan ever needing to play in a pair of wooly mittens.
And don't get me started on gloves and a short sleeved shirt. Tarts.
I do. Utterly, embarrassingly shite. I would team him up with Biggs, who did an excruciatingly bad commentary on Crewe v Donny last season. A masterclass in ineptitude.
Or William.Won't somebody think of the Bingo?
He's having a hip operation soon so will be off the radio for a few months.
Paul Tomlinson was the keeperRemember George Best playing in TC's testimonial.
He scored a beautiful 30 yard screamer into the Kop end. Goalie didn't make that much effort to save it though.
I have Reynauds and it's not an uncommon condition (5% of the population -just looked it up), this can be very painful, if you see me out exercising you'll probably see me in a tee with gloves on.
Education! It's fucking grrrrreat!
