Why would it have been a victory for anti-football?

I cannot fault them for that.. they've just been battered, are low on confidence, going through a shocking run and playing against a team who haven't lost in 13 matches and at their ground!!.. in the past we have done that, start getting clean sheets and confidence will grow.

Thankfully for us, it didn't start last night.

Yep... and as far as I could tell, the ref had a word with their captain early in the first half to tell his teammates about time-wasting. A failure of captaincy.

Bury are fighting for survival..

I'm quite chuffed that they came and played the way they did.. shows we are doing something right and teams aren't going to have it easy at the lane, unlike under previous management.. I'm sure there will be a few more teams this seasonthat will come and play like Bury.. happy for a point, but if we nick a goal..... what team does that sound like? Oh us under the bearded ones daddy

They were constantly on the ropes getting battered and outclassed but they showed that bulldog spirit
And we struggled to find that knock out blow.

So got to give them credit for defending like warriors.
Clearly we were the better team and deserved to win.

I think that the 35% possession must include the 15 minutes of playing time that they wasted, starting in the first 5 minutes of the first half .........

Having said that; they defended in a resolute if agricultural fashion ( similar to Shrewsbury ) but we must look at our tactics for breaking down "parking the bus" teams, at home !!

I wouldn't fault them either, they are professionals looking for something but its still anti football. We've done it, but it was still anti football when we did it. We haven't seen many do it at the lane in a few years because we've been a soft touch. Its a sign of how much better we are. Expect to see more of it
