There's more to life than money and I Beleave Chris s dream is to take us all the way to the premiership.
Given the right backing and I'm not talking mega bucks he will do it as the key is man management ( getting the best from what you've got) playing exciting footy along the way

He had a shaky start at Northampton and then probably realised what needed doing just like he did here, he didn't freeze anyone out and even the transfer listed players got a chance which just goes to show that been a stubborn twat gets exactly what it deserves, failure. Realise your mistakes, correct them or at least try to and you'll go a long way in life. Well done CW, AK and everybody involved in getting our club back on track.

I think he would only attract the level of job that might tempt him if he had been really successful with us, and if he has then I think that he will want to stay and enjoy that success with us.

My long-term plan, though, is Blades in Europe and Tufty getting the England job in 2020. The Prince can afford to pay for Pep or Juergen for us by then!

Wilder's no different to you or I where ambition's concerned. My take on his role as manager of United is that he'll have set himself personal targets, the single most important one being to get us promoted, this season if at all possible but failing that then next season without a doubt. I think Wilder will know he'll have to consolidate for possibly one, two, or three seasons in the Championship. I recall the Prince saying that the serious spending on players would begin in the Championship, so Wilder could build and strengthen the squad, and then prepare us for a promotion challenge when it's obvious we're fit for purpose.

Forget the mythical nonsense about 'one of us'. Some managers, like players, are a good fit at certain clubs. I recall Eddie Howe taking charge at Burnley, it soon became clear that this wasn't to be, and upon Howe's return to Bournemouth the chemistry was obvious and they now have a team that's attractive to watch, good players in most positions, and able to attract loan players like Jack Wilshere, currently a target for AC Milan. The point of this is that if United support Wilder, provide him with the funds to pursue the players he feels will improve us, ensure that he, Knill, and the remainder of his staff are well treated, then I suspect that Chris Wilder would be happy to make the Blades a far better proposition that they currently are. Which division that might end up in remains to be seen, but I've no doubt Wilder wouldn't spare the rod in order to achieve his objectives for this club. If, or when, the time comes for Chris Wilder to leave for pastures new it will be with immense goodwill and the knowledge that he and the club rose to the challenges ahead of them.

No obvious mention of geese, but I fear you are straying dangerously close to Adkins territory with the 'rising to challenges' stuff.

Seriously, the challenges are uncomplicated, namely promotion and improvement, none of the quasi-nonsense used by Adkins, just the straightforward management style that everyone finds refreshing and can relate to. We've a long way to go, but we've got the management team capable of taking us as far as we're good enough to go.

A footnote to our owners: if they don't support Chris Wilder the wrath of the supporters will last for decades. It's clear we have the chance to progress, and their support is integral to what happens next.....just sayin' UTB

This is going to sound rather Adkins-esque.

Put first things first. Begin with the end in mind. Two of the first three Steven Covey's Seven Habits .....

The first one in football terms is quite clearly 'take every match as it comes.'

The second one 'begin with the end in mind' is what I hope Chris Wilder and Alan Knill are doing on a regular basis.

I hope they are looking toward the Championship and the Premier League and assessing the current players. How many of them are going to be good enough for next season's challenges in a higher division? How many of them are capable of being effective in the Premiership? Who will be available next year to take us forward? Which kids are coming through with the skills to play in a higher division to league one?

Watching the game on Saturday - there were moments where a clumsy mis control or a pass that wasn't quite accurate doesn't go unpunished in this league but Wilder and Knill will be aware that in a higher division the opposition will not be as sympathetic.

Players need to be aware that if they want to be part of this journey that Wilder and Knill have started us on then they need to be responsible for lifting their performances season on season because I've a feeling that the 'end in mind' for Chris Wilder is NOT a struggling Championship side.

For me, he still has to prove he can do it in the arena, Saturday-Tuesday- Saturday- Tuesday. It’s a long hard slog and the biggest room in his house remains the room for improvement. But we need to keep providing him with a positive platform to express himself.
