I can't get my head round it. What's happened to my beloved forum? Once a place of moaning, arguing and in fighting, a place to wallow in the mud of despair. Now awash with 4-0 predictions, man-crushes and smiley faces. It's wrong, it doesn't feel right and I don't like it*

Seriously though, this place is very, very different to the previous couple of seasons, the positivity is a joy to behold, even Barney has got in on the act, Pinchy is as pleased as punch with the fast tempo pass-move-press-goal style CW has us playing, and Foxy hasn't had a thing to do for weeks and is currently sat in his man cave nostalgicly flicking through his collection of ticket stubs from the 88-89 season.

Just remember kids that we will lose at some point. We can't beat every team by 3 goals. Don't be disheartened. Breath. Accept it's inevitability and move on.

* I love it really

To be fair the football is fantastic. Fast, ball on the floor and full of movement. Great to watch. The antithesis of hoof!

And people were thinking CW would go back to hoof during the shit v. Southend!

Far different place from last year, I agree with that Stringy, being positive used to be frowned upon now it's being negative that's frowned upon.

Here's to 3 more points today and a Sheffield double! Come on Fulham!

UTFB!

Certainly not hoof - but far more direct than the woeful, slow, sideways passing for the sake of it that we saw under Adkins and Clough.

Far better to watch now and, more importantly, far more effective.

In other words, "it's OK but I'd really like a few more aimless launches into the stratosphere like in the good old days..."

The S2 Hoofers die hard...

Well we are not losing today that's for sure

My only requirement is that the players give 100%, care and play for that shirt.

The last game last season against Scunthorpe was played like a pre season formerly or testimonial.
Lots of easy/ safe sideways passing, lots of jogging. None of the players seemed that bothered apart from Billy. Even the fans hardly booed and EVERYONE seemed fed up and lost their edge.

In comes Wilder, smashes a few heads together.
Makes it clear it's his way or the highway.

Puts a bigger important in character, effort, desire, hunger over skill and ability.
Instantly doesn't want the talented Coutts due to lack of effort. (What a turn a turn around there)
Takes a disliking to the talented Che Adams due to his attitude.

Wilders psychology is fantastic.
He knows that when a team wins, plays well then they start thinking they can turn up and easily win.
Wilder hammers in the need to respect ALL our opponents ensuring the team are focused.

I feel like I have my club back, a manager and players that genuinely care.
Even if we lose a few I'd be supportive because the attitude is right.

Playing good football is just a bonus.
However what is weird and it's been mentioned earlier.

Teams are generally organised, fit with great character and desire but lack ability.
Or teams are talented playing skilful footballl but lack character and effort.

However amazingly Wilder seems to be producing a team with both qualities and long may it continue.

I like it just the way it is. It's a million miles away from the tippy tappy, no shots on goal, going nowhere rubbish that you favour - thank goodness.

My youngest son has only ever seen us being shit. Chuck in one relegation.

If we get promoted, and i think we will, it's the young'uns like him that I'll be so happy for.

Either way, at last we're playing propper football. :)

The Blades doing well has made it harder for me to distract myself from my depressing existence. At least when we were doing shit I could project it all onto the team and shout at them each week. Now that I don't have that outlet I am being acutely confronted with my own existential malaise.

To be fair, we did only beat MK Dongs 2-1

...WILDER OUT :D

And they had long spells passing us off the park.

I was initially very impressed with MK, to some degree the best side to come to BL this season....
Then I realised that for all their excellent play they had hardly had a single shot at goal.

All their best play was in and around the centre circle an their build ups were very very slow.
They looked a quality side but it was very reminiscent of when we had Dave Weir as manager.

Ha ha...... that's a known theory why some fans go to matches.

Instead of taking life's frustrations on the wife, kids, dog etc.
We channel all our pent up negativity towards the players and feel much better after a good moan.

Are you serious? Barca, Real, Arsenal Invincibles, the great Liverpool teams, Bayern, Juve, Brazil, Argentina, Milan. Lacking character and effort?

I've read some drivel on here. This is in the top ten, and that's quite an accolade...

Playing good football is no bonus. It's a sine qua non. It's cause and effect.

As for turgid football. Think DD once he'd lost Deane. Awful.

The forum reflects on the pitch - if we are doing well it will be a happy place if we are doing poor it won't be.

I notice all those who blamed the fans don't praise the fans now we are doing well.

Used to get my back up when some arseholes would come on here having a pop at the fans

It's plain to see now that the fans were never the problem and in fact should have been recognised as being amongst the most loyal and supportive in the universe

The other 9 are your own I take it ?

etc. etc.

All the top managers in the PL (Conte, Klopp, Guardiola) have drastically improved on their teams' attempts on goal, assists, sprints etc. This is the hard work that means you win the battle before the war is won. CW has exactly the same philosophy and he (like the others) have benefitted from a full pre-season.

Looks like we've found a good 'un.

Exactly. The fans were never the problem, it was those saying 'We can't keep sacking managers.'

Wrong. It should have been 'We can't keep employing crap managers.' We didn't employ any of them. Instead we've shown incredible loyalty and patience.

fear not fellow blade, you won't have to wait long for what you wish.

one slip and the knives will be out, it's the modern way. The problem now for the blades is that almost every game between now and the new year looks like a banana skin as you can make a case that we should win the lot.

It'll make the defeat - when it comes feel even more painful. Hopefully it's not today

Meant at our level.

The skilful players don't have the right attitude and effort
Where as players that work really hard don't tend to have the skill.

Also you seem to think playing good football is linked to working hard.
Didn't do much for Karl Robinson at MK, play some of the best football in league 1 but down near the bottom.
