Longest unbeaten run (league only) I've ever seen us go on is 18 matches I reckon.

The last 2 matches of the 2011-12 season (shudder) and the first 16 of the 2012-13 campaign.

We're currently on 12 this season and look well capable of eclipsing that.

Nailed on defeat Saturday now.

I've just revised my prediction for Saturday now, following the jinx.

2-4. With Hammond "starring", having been brought in on a short-term contract after a sickness bug at Shirecliffe wiped out the midfield engine room.

The run started after a 1-0 defeat at MK Dons and ended with a 1-0 defeat at MK Dons.

All runs will come to an end, and usually it's an 'easy on paper ' game that does it. But making a habbit of not loosing is a confidencebooster. Hopefully we'll still go on a few more unbeaten games if we take one game at the time and not get carried away by games played but focus on the next. Approach games like second half at Chessy, not the first.

11 games to break the record.... could we do it?

Shrewsbury (H)
Bury (H)
Charlton (A)
Walsall (H)
Swindon (H)
Coventry (A)
Oldham (H)
Northampton (H)
Bury (A)
Fleetwood (H)
Walsall (A)

Doesn't look impossible does it?

Hopefully we at least get to a stage where we can start talking about it and targeting it.

Charlton and Coventry the ones that I think are potential banana skins.

But 7 home games...

Long way to go yet.

Without a Loss 22 From > 02.09.1899 to 13.01.1900

Saw them all anall, reyt team then.:D

That equalled Preston's record for unbeaten games from the start of the season.

We should have won the league that year, but chucked it away in the last few weeks. Villa won it again for the fourth time in five years.

Worth noting that we only took 34 points from the 18 match unbeaten run in 2012.

We've already taken 30 points from the current 12 match unbeaten run.

I believe we also went on an 18 match unbeaten run in 2002/03 TRIPLE ASSAULT season.

12 games and not being beaten in almost 3 months is a nice feeling, but lets not get too carried away with it. Just keep turning up for the next game with the right attitude and the results will come. We should only really focus on winning the next game, and the landmarks will fall in time, and promotion will come should be do that. Lets just concentrate what we can do in the next game, and let others worry about us.

Indeed, they will be a different team to the one we beat a few weeks ago, Hurst seems to have steadied the ship there and they've won the last two without conceding a goal (albeit the former was the FA cup against Barnet).

The next couple of weeks is a good time to cement our place up there with a decent run of home games but these are the ones where complacency could set in (not that I think Wilder will stand for it) and teams will come and try to frustrate.

I've seen this comment before every game for the last 10 weeks when someone dares to predict something positive.
How long have you been a Blade? Should know by now that once we start getting positive, the footballing gods will get up to their tricks...
We've been here before - flying in the 3rd division at Christmas. The ONE thing you can rely on with United is that we'll find a unique and imaginitive way to bugger it up, or have it buggered up for us.
