Obviously the latest news being that Adkins is now the front runner for the Charlton hotseat there......

Shrewsbury and Bury being 2 games that I thoroughly expect us to be winning.....Therefore theoretically we may be heading to Charlton looking for our 15th unbeaten game.....And he might be in the hot seat looking to end it??

Opines?......

Would not be worried in the slightest if he gets it.

Maybe he'll treat them to a 4-0 defeat in his first game as well.

Wouldn't that be sweet.

Adkins should think again before going to Charlton. He has shown he struggles to cope at clubs with dysfunctional boardrooms.

Good luck to him but he should look elsewhere.

Agree with Bladesman. I think they are going to take some sorting out and after his last two management experiences he should have re-evaluated what he is capable of under pressure.

Whoever they get in I still think we will stuff them anyway.

Agree. This would finish his career at a decent level.

Agreed he really needs to think about his next move, he has not become a bad manager overnight. Adkins needs a club that has a board with a long term plan and not some muddled mess of multiple Owners with different ideas.

Charlton are in a mess and have fans who against the clubs ownership, the last thing they need is an Adkins interview.

Wonder if he will have signed Hammond and Woolford for them by the time we get to play them. Let's hope so.

I'm guessing that Wilder won't need a team talk for this one. Scougs, Coutts, Freeman, Billy and Done will relish this game

Scougs especially would run them fucking ragged to stick it to Positive Nige.

If Charlton fancy one of their "lob shit on the pitch" protests, we'll join in if it's rubber ducks.

Wonder if anywhere sells rubber geese?

Good luck to him but he should look elsewhere and I will keep an eye out for his motivational books in Waterstones.

Ammended mate.

Joking apart technically he can sign Hammond can't he as an unattached?
I have no idea what Hammond is currently doing. Not heard sight nor sound of him. Presumably he is living very comfortably on the proceeds of his pay out by SUFC. Anyone know if he has got another job?

Wasnt Wilder lined up for the job? Or was it Bolton? If it was Charlton it makes you wonder how he would have done down there.

Not too big on charlton facts, but if they've had god knows how many managers in two years they can add another one to that list this season if Adkins gets the job, Hammond, Woodford and the geese flying south....

Old Nigel, has he discovered it's better to fuck it all up and be paid for three years and only work one, he's so good at that he even got Hammond a deal for a free payout and he was only on loan at the time... Charlton if anybody's reading this from there, please don't do it..... it will bring you nothing.... and I don't mind charlton that's why I'm saying this,....

Pardon my ignorance but if Adkins gets the job, would it save us (SUFC) money from his payout?

Also Linz's comment about them "lobbing shit on the pitch", Atkins could manage that by signing and playing Hammond.;)
Sadly not. He will have agreed a settlement "in full and final settlement" so neither side can re-open the case.

Managers like Adkins will take jobs like this knowing if they fail it's another big payday.
Only in football do you get paid handsomely for failure, oh and banking.

There are a number of options. We could be paying him in stages, he may have received a large settlement or there may have been a clause in his contract stipulating how much compensation he is due, say a percentage of his outstanding contract sum.
We don't know what the terms of his sacking were so no one can say for sure but it's possible. I think when we took him from Reading he was technically on 'gardening leave' which meant they just paid him until he got another job.

He's doing the mannequin challenge. So pretty much a continuation of his performances in our midfield. Static c**t.
