On a more serious note, my dad used to speak well of Colin Collindridge. He was one who missed years of his career because of the war, not the most serious casualty of war, of course, but a reminder of the many ways war affects lives. By the time I started going to the Lane, we had another outstanding Colin on the left-wing, Grainger.
What were Mr & Mrs Collindridge thinking of calling their son Colin?

Fred Furniss is now 94. The only other ex-Blade I know of that lived to be 96 is Willis Vaughton who died in 2007 but he played only 3 games for us. Mind you I struggle to find any ex-footballers who lived to be 100 despite that there are over 14,500 centurions in Britain that is still alive

Must be a Utd thing with wingers. ..... Colin Colinmorris kept up the tradition in the 80's
