I had a look at the official line up posted on here when it was announced and thought to myself .... " fuck me , we have real competition in virtually every department " .

It's a very nice situation mr wilder and Knill are in right now . And its the first JTW we will have been in for a long , long time , when we aren't plugging glaring gaps in our first eleven .

If I was being greedy, a little more quality from wing back.
Freeman and Lafferty do ok, but both can be wasteful going forwards. Maybe a genuine winger who is frighteningly quick and beats a man for fun.

Also want more pace and power up front, however Chapman and Clarke have both shown they can bring something else to the team.

Reckon our JTW will basically be trying to tie up permanent deals for EEL, and then maybe Lafferty if we are still not sure with Hussey. Certainly if we are still going at the rate we are now, could Wilder seriously approach the board asking to spend money?

Fleck , Coutts , Duffy , Chapman , Scougal , Lavary , Basham . It's not terribly threadbare in reality .

GK is the only position I can think of that's weak in cover imo

I think the way we are going right now is EXACTLY the time CW should be going cap in hand to the board .

But there's not many in there who play an anchoring role is there, mate? A solid centre mid would really strengthen us. Basham is very useful in there, but is a versatile squad player too, Fleck can be useful in that role but is somewhat wasted there IMO, give him more of a free role. Coutts has had a resurgence this season but before that couldn't be relied upon. The rest are more attacking minded.

Don't get me wrong, we have some great options, I'd just welcome a midfield general.

Actually I just see things a little more clearly than most. It's not a case of Done simply not playing well; He's not good enough. Working hard is very important in football but you need a little bit more....well....ability.

Someone like the coloured lad for Chesterfield ( I'm not saying we could afford him) and I know he faded in the 2nd half, but someone who's direct with pace.

Chapman offers some pace when he's here, i think Lavery might get used as out wider as well

If we're looking for where to strengthen, look at the bench and pick the weakest players. Today I'd suggest that was Whiteman and Long.

Buying another keeper of Moore's ability would seem a big ask, as he will have come here to play first team football, as would an equivalent want to. So I predict no movement there in this window.

I like the look of Whiteman but he's clearly a way behind the current first choices. So if we can send him out on loan and get a better option in, do it.

All that said, the real world isn't like FIFA 2017. If the chance to get a class player in presents itself then it's hard to turn down, regardless of the position. So who knows...
