DCL

Anybody know if we get any extra money for things like his first premier league appearance, England call up etc regardless would love to see him get a chance today coming off the bench.

Genuinely saw very little in him when I saw him play.

Very best of luck to him. Must be doing summet right!

Do we have substitute threads now. That is a thread that is a substitute for another one listed as DCL?

His (DCL) cameos off the bench are/were no worse than Lavery's so far (ran round a bit, chased after defenders, missed a good chance, no goals).
I think we could have done with a young player who can win a header to bring on in situations like yesterday, particularly as we signed 2 injury prone strikers. But on the plus side McCabe trousered £1.5m!

Not surprised. He's got a lot going for him and seems to have performed consistently well at youth level.

Still very disappointed we sold him. We had absolutely nothing to lose with him. The sale will only be acceptable if we sign quality in January.

I can understand you being disappointed that we sold a fairly promising young player, however, it's not unreasonable to believe that without selling him, we wouldn't have got EEL and Moore.

I think the sale of him and Adams was a tad frustrating, but ultimately for the greater good.

THE GREATER GOOD....

But I'd like to think we could've done it without selling DCL. EEL's a loan and Moore was only 250k up front with the rest dependent on promotion, which is always a massive if. I think we were ready to spend on Craig Morgan and possibly one other so that would suggest there was money to spare in the end.

You're speculating again herb we'd all like to think we could spend money without having to balance the books unfortunately it's not always the case

They did mention an injury crisis amongst the strikers at Everton on the commentary beforehand.

Glad to see a fellow Fuzz fan!

Correct EEL's a loan, but he won't have been free, I expect wed have paid a fee or be covering his wages (perhaps both)

We signed a lot of players and will have had to pay signing on fees and in some case transfer fees, my guess would be that most of the money from player sales has serviced that bill

Remember Jordan Slew going to Blackburn in similar circumstances....recently signed for Plymouth ....

You know Jordan well do you, know his attitude character and work ethic?

You know dom well too I'm guessing?

Obviously not as they are two complete opposites you plonker, related though they are cousins it would be a good idea for you to put more thought into your ridiculous comments

Rag week?

He no longer plays for us so couldn't care less where he ends up or if he sits on the bench for Everton. Only care about our current players and how they're doing.

If it generates us, as a club, more money by him getting onto the higher stage (internationals/another club/appearance money/sell on fees etc), brilliant, if not, he stopped being useful to the club on the day we sold him.

He is just another on the list of academy products that have brought finance into the club.

Thought we did well to get what we did for him to be fair given he had hardly broken into the first team (in a struggling squad!) with a number of cameo appearances.

I think it's been alluded to in comparison to Jordan Slew - another academy product who made a couple of cameo appearances for the first team but again did well to get the fee we did for him. Ultimately we won that one and came off best.

Time will ultimately tell with the Calvert-Lewin sale as to whether we come out best again or not.
Can't fault him for wanting to move for better wages and an increased profile of being a player associated with a premier league club.

I'm disappointed we sold him for the fee we did, and am not remotely surprised he is so well thought of at Everton - he was outstanding at academy level. If the fee allows Wilder to strengthen substantially in January - and we get promotion as a result,- it'll have been worth it: I think he is still a year or two from being ready to mix it consistently in the senior game, and we already have good options at this level.

I Was really disappointed to see the two of them leave as I thought they had the potential to for a fantastic partnership in the long term but if we’re promoted, I will accept it as a necessary measure to take.

Basic, sound management to put a couple of development lads on the bench. Seven subs is a lot, one keeper, two lads who get game time now and again and 4 players to choose 3 places if the game demands it. Prudent management at any level.
