Another one of Cloughs cronies out the door..

....however I'll say it again...... before I get too happy about all this I'll wait to see who we replace them with in the summer.

I do have fond memories of that goal but if his place in Blades history is a goal in a 5-3 defeat it's just a sad reflection of our standards.

No fault of the supporters' but I found that and the number of likes it received a bit sad.....in the nicest possible way. I get where you were coming from all the same.
That's the fucking depth to which we've sunk now...fucking wankers like McDonald portrayed as worldbeaters. Nick Blackman FFS

The cull continues.
Nige doing a good job, finally, in clearing the deadwood out of the cupboard.

Take the point about the Wembley goal & the good times associated with it, but has Scougs put in a single memorable performance since them?
Nowt against the lad, but best all round that a parting of the ways takes place.

I will be sad to see the lad being shown the door. He put a lot of effort and passion into his game. It's a pity that some of it didn't rub off on the others. He suffered setback with injuries and his diminutive physique put him at a disadvantage in this league, not helped by poor protection by ineffective refereeing.

Good luck Stephan wherever you go.

Another Jock bites the dust ,Coutts must be bricking it ,anymore ?

I really hope he is. Because then he might put an acceptable level of effort in.

His only hope now is that Adkins thinks his talent is such that's it's worth accommodating amongst a midfield of players who actually run about.

But my money is on alcoblade 's market barometer giving him the same verdict as the rest - uh-uhhhh!

Lad played extremely well alongside coady, unfortunately all downhill since, still better than woolford/hammond in my opinion

Another one with a questionable attitude, keeping questionable company. Not sad to see him go because of that. But he's another, like Che, who definitely does have some very positive attributes to his play. I can't help but think if he joined us in better times, in a squad with more leaders, with a good spirit, he may have thrived and kicked on a bit. As it is our squad seems to have a real poison running through it that is just infecting everyone. Anyway, Scougall's output when he did play wasn't good enough. For all his endeavour it mostly lacked direction and he wasn't able to look after himself physically like previous "little guys" who moved up a level like Stephen Quinn.

When you look at the good players who left to move up a level; Matt Lowton, Stephen Quinn, Jamie Murphy, Harry Maguire, Kevin McDonald, Nick Blackman and compare them to their replacements that are now leaving (all seemingly on downward trajectories) it's really obvious to see how wrong we've been getting it. Adkins signed Woolford, Sammon, Hammond and Edgar this year, made McEveley captain and didn't bring in a centre half. We're about to place all faith in him to oversee a huge overhaul this summer. I doubt he'll be here in 2017.

Good luck to the lad. Liked him a lot when he first came in but looked like he lost his desire to succeed, either by himself or taken out of him.

Had a chat with his mad Scottish uncle 'McScougall@ outside Wemberlee.

He was easy to spot. Tam O'Shanter, kilt, Saltire and very pissed. He was enjoying the crack with Blades and apparently there were 30 of his family there that day. This is a loose translation, as I really was struggling to understand the bloke. Still he was there and cheering on the Blades big style, so no problem with me.

I really wanted Scougall to build on that. Put a bit of timber on and get a bit of guile and really be a player. Sadly that hasn't happened so a no brainer really.

He did his best and his first season was a highlight. Seemed to struggle after that and maybe injuries hampered his progress.

I think its time for him to move on.

Best for club and player.

The little fella will always have his place in Blades history.

Just watched that and the rest of the run it links to on youtube. Murphy's a big miss isn't he?

Worth 10 -15 goals (including the goals he sets up), so maybe 10 points or 4/5th place.

Squad size is now 26 (25 according to wiki, but I'm including Kelly) and the 26 includes Baxter, Diego, McFadz and Kennedy. None of whom are getting anywhere near the matchday squad. only young Diego out of those has a contract beyond June.

Measured by players that Adkins actually puts on the pitch, the squad is even smaller

Long,
Brayford, Basham, Edgar, Baptiste, Done, Mceverly
Hammond, Flynn, Cuvelier, Whiteman, Reed, Woolford, Coutts
Adams, DCL, Sharp
, Sammon

JCR, Kelly, Mcgahay and Howard are making the bench

I think 11 (in green) of those have a contract beyond June, 5 of whom are teenagers. I can see 5 more being offered a contract (which doesn't mean they'll accept or that I want them to stay)

Nigel showing the iron fist inside the velvet glove...carry on.

Thanks for the memories scoogs but now fuck off please. Try putting the work in at your next berth, it'll get you a long way,

Ran about a bit but rarely stamped any authority on a game. Few goals or assists, probably won't improve so best he moves on.

We must surely be able to find better players.

I'm a bit disappointed by how it all panned out for Scougs.

He came in, and he was absolutely outstanding in the first few months, making a lot of darting runs from midfield, and scoring a few good goals early on. I genuinely thought we had a real player on our hands, and someone who could be one of the players who became a real crowd favourite and one of those players you really want to turn up week in, week out just to watch.

After the first 6 months he seemed to lose way quite a bit, anonymous in a lot of games where he played, and then as time went on, his appearances became less frequent and more non-descript as time went on.

I don't think he will still be here beyond the end of the season, but i wish him well. There is a footballer in there, i just hope he goes on and enjoys a decent career, as i always rated him as a footballer, and he always came across as a decent lad as well

Its a shame because he was a brilliant player 1 of the few that willing to make forward runs from midfield. & he was 1 of our outstanding players in the fa cup run. I would've kept him but hes not played since November & obviously doesnt feature for adkins

He played very well that season in a role which suited him perfectly as 'all he had to do' was play in the hole behind the striker.

Of course that was far from all he did, he worked extremely hard and supported the midfield, but was still expected to arrive perfectly on time to pick up the scraps that dropped in and around the penalty area.

The problem is that he doesn't fit into any other formation/ set up and playing in Central midfield or out on the wings, he's lost.

As William Henry Foulkes said, injuries have been massive the last two seasons.

Could perhaps see him moving to Burton next year
So long as the clown who paid £400k for him gives us every penny back.

Good luck to the lad. He continues the drain away, and it's always in the same direction - downwards.

There are reasons his form has dropped off, but once again when the professionals get to judge in the wider market, the verdict is the same. We really have filled our squad full of Shite.

UTB
Clough shite

Hate to piss on anyone's chips but it's only a one month loan and he's contracted till June 2017 is he not?

Everybody always seems to be happy when players leave, because we can do better. Trouble is, we never do. We always do worse. Every time we get rid of someone who is decent, we replace them with someone who is half-decent. Every time we get rid of someone half-decent, we replace them with average. And every time we get rid of someone average, we replace them with complete pot noodle.

Fleetwood Update

Scougs came on for the last 20, touched it about 4 times and fell over twice.

Maxwell is still a w@nker and we should have a look at Jimmy Ryan, ran the game yesterday, loads of energy, great passing and always looking to be involved.

I never really rated Scougall, even in his supposedly great first season, the height of 'I Love Scoogs' mania. Hopefully this move will be made permanent but if the above post is accurate Fleetwood will be hardly falling over themselves to take him off our hands.
