Literally put on a plate?
Callamine ?I was singing unitched and nobody caught on
I thought there was one, which I haven't seen mentioned anywhere. In a game where we dominated and came away 4-0 winners, both strikers were absent from the scoresheet due to their inability to stay onside. I can't speak much of the two in the first half as we sit at the Kop end of John Street (thought I understand it was one offside each), but there was nothing unlucky or a slightly mis-timed about the two in the second half. Both Done and Sharp found themselves in offside positions regularly during the game, and we know has been a problem for Sharp throughout his career. Their positional play and concentration in these situations were poor and it cost each of them a certain goal in the second half.United – Cannot think of any negatives.
Even a grumpy old bastard like me would happily point out that this was our best league performance in about 3 years ....... some very enjoyable football to watch and a good scoreline as well.
Even a poor referee and diabolical linesman couldn't spoil a good days entertainment !!
I thought that Duffy, Fleck and Coutts had their best games for the Club as well ....... EEL was immense !! ( Tufty ..... please kidnap McCabes wife and don't release her until the tight ba**ard has signed EEL )
Can't see how Basham will get in the side on Tuesday night ....... hopefully replace Scougal on the subs bench as it would be a shame to change a winning side.

Why would you replace scougall and not Reece brown. Too many people with silly agendas
You think it's acceptable to describe someone as a "complete prick" for passing comment on something they heard in the ground? Presumably in your world because we won 4-0, this never happened, or if it did shouldn't be commented on.Really ? Why ?
It was not really a rant and I never suggested the ground was alive with it. I heard the chant once (I then heard a lot of Blades singing it at the top of Fargate after the game too)/ Others said they heard a few chants.
I have stayed away from all the twitter stuff, not even read the long thread on this forum for a while. I have kind of moved on from it. It is totally irrelevant to us now what the new verdict is. I had a slght interest because of the affect it had on us years ago but do not get the pro Evans stuff at all. It's almost like he is still a hero to some. He acted disgracefully that evening. As an employee of SUFC it was applaling behaviour.
Just do not get why some fans are still so obsessed by it/him.
We won 4-0 - maybe I should not have mentioned it and I am being totally hypocritical by saying why are we still mentioning him and then I do! I just felt it was worth mentioning as on great performance win we surely should be focusing on the current team/manager etc
Are you fucking menstruating? Get a fucking grip daft lad. Great match report, full of praise, one mention of a chant about Ched and you go on the blob.
If you get all fucking girly thinking that was a dig maybe best that you hide in a cupboard next time we lose.
Edit: and before you get all pissy, I'd have probably joined in chanting so stick that in your fucking pipe and smoke it.
I just 're-read that mate and wow, I'm such an angry man. Think I'll buy some kittens and listen to my Donny and Marie lp to chill out a bit.....
Thanks for explaining why the Ched chant comment was included DB but there wasn't really any need . I was totally out of order with my comment and I apologise unreservedly for both my comment and behaviour .
I was like most other posters last night on a real high after what was our best league performances in years . I read your match report , as I always do even though I'd been to the game and I have to say I thought your analysis was pretty much spot on . When I got to the end of your report and read the Ched comment I was genuinely disappointed and thought why ruin a great day . To be fair to you though , with the benefit of hindsight you always comment upon the crowd and the Ched reference was clearly in keeping with your usuall commentary . Sorry mate .
Therein lie the perils of posting whilst pissed !
Remember people suggesting we sign Antony Grant like he was the next Paul Ince.
He looked absolute bobbar.
Having the likes of scougal, lavery and young Chapman coming off the bench does give us the chance to carry on with the same style but having basham on the bench does give us something different when needed, good problem to have though, int it!Even a grumpy old bastard like me would happily point out that this was our best league performance in about 3 years ....... some very enjoyable football to watch and a good scoreline as well.

No worries. Fair play to come on and apologise. It made me laught to be honest rather than annoy me! I was called a type of female gentitalia the previous day (long story) so was hoping for a hat trick of genitalia based insults today but alas the wife was out.
I sit on the kop and got there just as the teams came out. I was pleased to say I didn't hear a single Ched song all day.Did you hear the Ched related chants ? All I heard was a ground full of appreciative Blades applauding one of the best performances in a long time .
I guess some just aren't happy with that .
Funnily enough, I don't think I've ever seen us have four goals chalked off and thought the ref had a decent game before.
Question at half time was "have we ever had a CB score a hat trick?" so I'll leave you with that thought as we couldn't recall one.
The answer is no - and I think it also applies to fullbacks, and no United defender has ever scored a hattrick.
Is this the bit where the curtain-twitchers get all teary about ONE Ched chant?
Oh dear, how sad.
Wonder if Bergen Blade has looked at whether Port Vale were crap, or we just got it spot on? Hint hint!![]()
I was singing cheds name all game but I disguised it in the word united.

I thoroughly approve of both the term and the approach of 'Tuftyball'. Going to the Lane has become enjoyable again, and not just because we're on a decent run.The first four games are rapidly becoming ancient history; the team were not up to speed or fitness for proper Tuftyball (and "proper" it is - more Barca than Bassett)
