Good 2 2 draw today at Vickerage Road.

Long, Charlesworth, Cummings, Semple ( C ), Kelly, K. Smith, Slater, J Wallace, Hallam, Whiteman, Wright

Goals .... Hallam 50 Semple 70

J Wallace came off injured after 18 minutes replaced by Gilmoor.

This is a seriously young side we have. Results will be very mixed this season but a cracking way of installing experience at a young age.

Getting beyond a joke with Wallace, now. Hope he's got enough saved up to buy a little cafe or summet.

If Wallace was a horse he would've been fucking shot by now.
We still ought to consider it as an option, got to keep the wage bill down after all.

I know he's earning a crust for very little, but I do feel sorry for the bloke.

It must be soul destroying to know you've got the talent but your body won't let it happen.

Makes players like Baxter look all the more foolish.

I imagine he'd be kicking himself, if it wasn't so risky. Must be gutted. He should be playing in the championship by now, earning decent money and having a great life instead of constant pain and frustration. I bet he was made up when he signed for us, big club appearing to be on the up again, but it's been a nightmare for him, and us. I hope it's just a niggle and not something serious. If we got ten first team games out of him it could make a difference to us. Not looking likely though.

Wish i hadn't mentioned it now.... but

All i can say is this, i have watched him play with the 23s 3 or 4 times this season as he tries to get fit and every time he plays he absolutely busts a gut for the team. He launches into tackles and has been by far the best player on the pitch, whilst continually talking and encouraging the young players around him.
It would be easy for him to sit in midfield and do half a job but he doesn't. He works his bollocks off.

For this alone he has my backing and it is genuinely sad to see a top player trying to regain some sort of fitness and coming up short time after time.

Really feel for him. It's very easy to put him in the "couldn't give a fuck" clan but the reality is his body just isn't up to it. Yes he has earned good money for little in return but it's not his fault someone decided to give an already injury prone player a 3year deal and he must be distraught it hasn't worked. The probability is this could be his last professional contract and that's a real shame with the obvious talent he has.

Would have been encouraging if Lavery had put a shift in, somethings not reight

You and me both there B56 .

On another thread there's a clamour from some for Lavary to replace Done asap ..... he's not even getting a run out for the U23's for fuck sake .

Have we a ready made back up for J Wallace here ???

Long lets 2 more in.
Just need to keep that up there like.:)

Desperately sorry for Wallace.:(
Concerned about the rumblings re Lavatory. Talked the talk on signing. No walking seen yet.

Is he injured? He wasn't on the bench for the shitpot cup either.

The idiots who talk about "wage thieves", "hangers-on" and other such nonsense, ought to read this...and then read it again and again, until the brain cell has assimilated it...

THIS!!!!

If you include Harvey Gilmore coming on for Wallace after 18 mins then 6 of the 11 started the season with the U18's so a 2-2 draw with a good Watford outfit is a hell of a result

Good point pal.......... unfortunately some don't want to hear the good stuff.

They would rather tell anyone that listens that the Academy is a strain on the clubs finances and it should be closed.... dear o dear o dear !!

Dare i mention that the 5 out of the 6 in question have all been brought through the system since the age of 8 years old. Well i've gone and said it now....
