That's a great shout .

How the fook did I forget him .

Ah , I understand my omission now , he's fuckin shit , that's why ;)

You forgot him because you were banging on about someone called SharpE.
Whoever he is.

Sharpe - Sharp - Shearp - Shearpe. ..... no matter how you spell it it's still pronounced the same S - H - I - T :D

Sharp is not the same player as last season right now, not sure how many championship sides would employ him on current form. Not sure what it is but there is something missing. Hope it's a blip because there ain't a great deal backing him up.

Guess the difference is that he's not working for Adkins anymore.

...but it it then his penalty taking that makes him an automatic selection?

I don't think he takes a good penalty. He smashes them up the middle a lot. I don't remember him putting too many just inside the post, out of the Keeper's reach. I don't feel confident when he takes them.

Fred, John Gannon & LYDON

Great thread Fred.

Sharp has not been great this season, as suggested by the article.

But he has not been wank either, as suggested by many of our resident experts on this forum.

Remains important to the side overall (and by inference an important part of Wilders plans).

Fair point, but then surely we've also got to give him credit for managing to score 20+ goals in that dogshit team?

That's not up for debate, he did very well last season as we all acknowledge, but the team.. and I stress it's becoming a team, are better this season, sharp has had good games this season as well...

He scores goals when he gets a sniff.. those moaning I just don't get that.. we are lucky to have him.. especially in this league...

When Sharp get his arse out of his head then the quality of our performances will vastly improve.

Strange timing for this thread when we're down to two first choice strikers.
Trust in Wilder to sort em into a competitive front four when they're all fit.

On a personal note, I hope Billy bangs a couple in on Saturday and helps the team to three points.

UTB!

Yeah, i've never understood the fondness for bashing Sharp, he's easily one of, if not the best striker in League One and would easily be a regular starter for a number of Championship clubs, really don't know how many of our players you could say that about.

On reputation probably, current form not so sure.

However, I'm hoping he nabs a hat-trick on Saturday though.

Baffles me how they have the time to comment on the football, surely they're discovering cures for cancer, debating world peace and agreeing with others on how to stop the climate change progression?
But they have , they have to sort out the riddle inside a conundrum , inside a puzzle , that is our beloved
Sheffield United ,
Steven Hawkings , mind yerself . ;)

Fair play! Not even too cuntishly clickbaity. Six different names all on the same page without having to click onto each one separately??!?!?!??????

But it just shows you how wrong an outsider can get it. Quick glance, 5 goals, 'great' season. But if you'd watched us you'd know that's not been the case at all. Great would be a ridiculous exaggeration.

Yes coutts with no league goals or assists is fucking zidane all of a sudden

Agreed

It's amazing how some people are forgetting Done's poor form recently (but he does run around a lot :-) )as well as his missed chances but focus on the same areas to criticise Sharp. It is as if some fans are looking for something to criticise and are looking for a scapegoat.

We have two fit strikers at the moment and no loan market to boost the front areas. Neither Sharp or Done are in the best of form but not awful either.

Some fans just don't like their own

No worries , we'll just keep sending Scougall on with a neck-brace & a spine-board for protection so he can get cynically up-ended & Billy can slot home the resulting penalty
I've seen worse plans.

Yet when a striker scores 5 it's still not enough. A worthy comparison against position

It's not his goal tally that people are most concerned about. It's not all about stats with Coutts, it's not all about stats with Sharp, even though given their positions and player types they're more important for Sharp.

I can't believe how many of our fans seem to break down a midfielder's contribution and worth purely to goals and assists.
It's not just down to goals and assists but he does have to contribute more of these to his game, especially assists being a midfielder.

He's certainly improving his all round game but he's no where near as good and commanding in the midfield as he could be, I think and hope there's a lot more to come from him.

Think Sharpe's contribution is being seriously underestimated so far this season. Yes he's scored goals, but he's also been a playmaker up front. May not have the assists statistics, but he's been a potent threat in most games.
Think his season will only get better.
