So, we've played three cup ties this season, all at home - and lost the fecking lot (don't give me any bollocks about a pen shoot out after a draw - we lost the fecking shoot out)

Anyway, that makes us a million miles away from a bunch of fucking cup tarts. How times have changed?

I'd trade fruitless trips to Wembley for promotion.

Realistically there is no chance of winning a cup, so let's concentrate on the league and one day that might change.

This made me recall the cup run we had under Clough. Lovely memories etc, and I recall posters saying how they'd pass on promotion for the chance to achieve a win at Wembley. That's about as far from my view as I can recall. Promotion is the be all and end all for this club. Everything else withers by comparison, as remaining in Div 1 ultimately harms and damages this club's chances of ever gaining a chance to play at a higher level. By all means let's go out in every game attempting to win, but please don't confuse our need to gain promotion with the relative success we might achieve elsewhere. There's only one goal for this club, promotion, promotion, promotion!!!

Yes, but there's about as much chance of me wearing a Wednesday shirt as there is us going up.

I was referring to a trip to Wembley to see us get beat by Hull or seeing us getting beaten by Tottenham in the LC: lovey days/nights out, but would trade both in a heart beat to be back in the Championship.
