I was one of those going barmy in the away end - great match that - WBA were really fancied to be at the top of the division and we were the newly promoted "oiks" but we were solid and Deane & Agana ripped them a new oneHave family friends who are West Brom fans so sat in their home end a few times, most notably for opening day 1989 when we ran rampant and won 3-0. Was great fun admiring the away end resplendent in luminous yellow and going barmy. West Brom fans round us were furious at their teams performance but really impressed with Deane and Agana.
I also remember a lot of Blades going in the away end at the Lane when we played Norwich on the last day in 1991 (the roof off the Kop match). Mainly because it was so packed trying to get in anywhere else. One of our more dodgy reported attendance figures that day...
Never done it and I don't think I ever will. As a general rule, I'd prefer to not go to a game rather than sit with the opposition fans. When I'm at a match I like to be vocal both in terms of getting behind the team and being able to vent my spleen every time the ref gives a decision against us. Having to sit quietly and try to blend in would be a horrible experience for me.
Are they playing Hull?I'll probably be doing it at Bradford in a few weeks as I can't see that reaching general sale! I'll just answer any questions with 'A dernt ner'.
Hillsborough (Boxing Day), Leicester City (Won 5-2, Man City lost 4-0), Crawley (with a Crawley supporting mate Won 2-0) Darlington (Won 2-0), Crystal Palace (0-0)

But why would home fans start any bother if I'm there with my kids? All were doing is watching match were not out to cause any bother.Well, yeah. Especially with kids. I wasn't going to say that though.

I had 2,000 Luton fans loudly and persistently questioning my sexuality for the rest of the of the match. I blew them a kiss as I left which didn't go down too well.

I'm a 40 something with my kids all we want to do is watch match,if they wanted bother am sure they would know where to look for it and it isn't a bloke with his kids is it even if they are sat on the home teams stand.I imagine they might see it as a bit disrespectful to them, especially if you'd turned up in your United clobber.
The worst was the 3-3 draw with Boro in the promotion season under Bassett. It was all looking good at 3-1 up but Comfort (born again Christian) and Slaven (Born again Frankenstein) scored late. I was standing on the Holgate End and it was a nasty experience,
Good point well made Kenni!!Bollocks!
There was no "home" end at Darlo
As Max Boyce would say " I was there" !Who went to Luton on Boxing Day 1990 when they had the ban on away supporters due to that idiot chairman they had at the time? Deano scored the only goal of the game, and if you look on the tv coverage on YouTube, there must be at least 500 blades in the stand behind the goal celebrating!
As for going in the home stand, Mansfield in the cup and Everton away (when Marwood scored the winner) come to mind for me...
