I disagree, especially with the pace comment. From what I remember he flailed and got tackled whenever he tried to take someone on. There was one occasion where I thought he was through on goal but he ended up wandering off and getting stuck in the corner before hitting it back to the bloke behind him.

Good goal though, and he did seem to put a shift in.

For me that was just good game management. Last few minutes, nothing wrong with running the ball into the corner.

We had a spell where we kept the ball for 2-3 minutes near the end, one or two near me were screaming for someone to have a go. But there's nothing wrong with trying to run the clock down in their half. When we did eventually have a shot, their keeper saved then set them on the attack. After that it was backs to the wall for the last 5.

I suppose it's a balancing act. We don't want to take stupid risks and open ourselves up, but at the same time it'd have been good if we'd tried to properly bury them. Chapman to me seemed to be one on one if he'd kept sprinting, so waddling off into the corner seemed like a stupid decision to me.

Fair enough, couldn't really tell from where I was whether he'd got clear of them or not.

We really should have put the game to bed earlier as well, against 10 men I'd of liked us to get the 2nd goal that would have saved us all a tense 5 minutes at the death.

Its easier to run without the ball though which is why defenders can make ground on attackers. The fact he got behind him in the first place suggests he was faster than his opposition marker.

He certainly made an impact replacing Scoogs, after he had run himself into the ground. The most impressive thing in Chapman's game was to reach the height he did to head the ball in for the winner. Brian Deane might have struggled to get that high

I thought that. When it was coming over I really didn't think he'd have a chance of getting to it but he rose like a fucking salmon and got there.

On a related note, I'm annoyed that Sammon last year has ruined that phrase for me.

augers well
the options this season hold promise , instead of dread
Been bloody tellin' thee that fo' years BTL

It just feels so different this time.
Not clutching threads of hope that it'll turn around
The evidence that it is turning around in the right manner is there.

On the run -We could say that about Wilson, Long, Hussey etc. Don't think he was the worst performer by any stretch.

agree, certainly Wright coming in and Hussey going out is another one that coincides with the turnaround that started against Oxford. Moore for Long's a no brainer.
