After the Rochdale and Southend games I said we needed to start playing or we'd be in a relegation battle....

Well I'm pleased to announce that we appear to have turned a bit of a corner. Still much work to do but it's looking so much better after 3 successive wins, 2 of those tricky away trips so full marks to CW and the team.

Cracking result today!

First goal for Duffy, another for Billy and first of the season for Matty Done.

Looking forward to Peterboro at the Lane next week.
 



Special praise for Matty Done, should keep the doubters quiet for a week. :)
 
Today was a huge game for us, bigger than anybody outside of the club would know.

After two really good wins, we had to go and deliver today. If we had of lost all of that good work would have been undone. Everybody would be sat doubting us again. Terrific result
 
Anyone know what's happened to the match threads? I only posted this thread because of their absence. Foxy on holiday?
 
Win, win, win - been more than a year since that happened!

Difficult to keep feet on the ground right now, but got to. Two very tough games coming up which'll tell us where we are at the moment.

Great turn-around from that seriously dodgy start to the season though. Feels good.
 
It's remarkable the turn around really, we looked absolute abysmal against Rochdale and Southend, but the scrappy win against Oxford seems to have settled us down and then two more wins where we have really dominated and should have won by more.

Just to keep our feet on the floor though at this stage last season we had just won four on the bounce and were second. This game can bite you on the arse so let's not get too over confident just yet.
 
I just want to see us look convincing at home now. I'm confident we'll be good away - we shouldn't have even lost away from home yet - but that home form could undo it if the Rochdale and Southend games are anything to go by. Need to see us dominate and create chances galore at home.

Peterboro will be a tough test, they've beaten us at the Lane and we've beaten them at their place last 2 seasons. I'll settle for same score as the one in May 1982!
 
Peteboro are one of those sides I really don't like and I can't put my finger on why,

I would really like it to be them where we score a hat full.

Bit greedy 4_0 ? I would be very happy with a very professional 2_0 ...or just a win UTB.

It was after 5 games last season that we had won 4 on the bounce and were second. At this stage last year, after 7 games, we had just lost 2 in a row and were 5th. If we win next week we will have 13 points, which is only exactly the same as both of the last 2 seasons - so we will at least be back to square one - a lot better than square minus 4 a few weeks ago! Anyway, let's hope we're on a run like 2013/14 when we won 7 on the bounce - then we will be back on track (2 points a game) to get back to the Rose Garden!

We won 3 on the spin last December (Coventry, Scunny and Bradford) albeit with a game postponed in between. If we're looking for omens though, it doesn't look good as that run was ended with a 2-3 home defeat against..... you guessed it... Peterborough.

I will take the three point, but agree we need to be better at the back, goal difference may come back at bite us at the end of the season

I totally agree and I wasn't totally despondent after the first 3 games either. I now live on the Isle of Man and so am no longer a season ticket holder unfortunately. After watching the full Gillingham game on tv I was really impressed with the new signings and I honestly think we will be challenging for promotion, if not in an automatic spot. 6 points from the next 2 games (perfectly possible) and we are averaging 2 points per game i.e. promotion form!!
