The board have managed to surpass themselves this year. We have reduced the wage bill massively, sold our only 2 saleable assets and signed a load of cheap shit and cheap loans. They just never fail to fail.

Yeah but at least we can look back and say we got a good deal on Che and DCL when we are in League 2.

Yep. The foundations are being built on sand too, if the loans do really well there's little chance of permanent deals.

Banging on about loans........remind me how many players have we signed so far on loan?? Do people really think these are freebies?

We have certainly had a hell of a lot more loans to rely on in the last than we have now.

If only we had billions floating around we'd be able go out and sign everyone because it's clearly that simple.
Makes me wonder how people actually view the footballing world when they moan about our transfer activity so far - we are not on the same footing as a Premiership club so why have the expectations?!

Also like to add.....

Whose moaning about the sale of DCL?
We are getting a decent fee for someone who couldn't even break into a struggling league one club.
Says something when he couldn't force his opportunity here, including lay season where he only made bit part appearances after loan spells out in league two.

Fair play if the lad makes it and hope he does. If he does not, he will always be in the same sentence as Jordan Slew.

Agreed. They also don't seem to have noticed how many more loans there are now, eg Hart to Torino, ("typical Torino, no ambition"?) Yet when we give people contracts, the same moaners whinge about that too.

Some people are just never happy. I can see it now we get promoted and it's a disaster because it was done with loan players.

Yea. Hart to Torino really is comparing like with like.

As per McCabe has raked in a fortune and spent fuck all in reality.

Fuck me its poisonous the atmosphere. Seriously if all people can do when we sign 12 players in one window is moan, then I'm sorry but maybe you should find a new hobby.

These are the same people demanding a clear out last season .
The thing is Matt, most people are fine with a clear out but you could bring 30 players in after this and if they aren't good enough they aren't good enough, simple as that really.

You pay for what you get springs to mind, unfortunately this works against us on a numerous of occasions. It all boils down to decision making.

Demanding a clear out and then a sensible number of quality signings, or a clear out and then loads of garbage?

Even though the same set of fans were overjoyed at the loan signing of Brayford being eventually turned into a permanent?

Have we really signed Hungry players like WIlder says he's after or just signing Yes Men

We've signed a left back to replace a left back we've just signed. A reserve centre half, and a winger who was average in league 2 last season. I will obviously give them a chance, but hardly a statement of intent. Can't believe some fans are getting excited 'because we've signed 12 players'. The number of players is irrelevant, its the quality that matters. I hope I'm wrong and we win the league by 10 points, but I'm not convinced at the minute.

Just no pleasing some folk, already saying that some recent signings are shit without ever seeing them play in a Blades shirt. We are not in a position to just go and buy whoever we fancy no matter what the price. Wilder has had a clear out, which is what many on here wished for, he has recruited 12, yet this is still not good enough according to some.
Moaning about the sale of Adams and DCL (possibly) who have proven nothing so far, more than likely one or both will be another Slew, and we have got good deals for them. As with many many things time will tell but FFS, give them a chance.

Said the other day it's all down to expectations.
We expect better in the majority, without taking into account the reality that we are still losing millions a season.

Some also demanded a clear out of the(insert your choice of derogatory remark) "stealing" a wage, expecting that we could get better with what we were paying. Turns out it's not as simple as they thought. Highlights of this include L2 players demanding more than we can afford having never played outside L2!

So add together these expectations, losing money, can't afford quality yet demand promotion we are left with the Sheffield United football model. AKA?..Sack the manager and repeat.

Long term strategy, carefully scouted players from lower leagues and gradual improvement is the only way that it will work for this club without millions being invested in one go. (10 million IMHO)

12 signings will take time to gel. I've seen enough so far to see that we have the makings of a good team. Wilder now needs to mold them together and get them working as a team.

Denote "sensible number"
Well, we certainly didn't need 12 for starters, had the quality have been there.

1 GK, 3 CB's, 2 CM's, 1 Winger, and a ST. If we hadn't have got rid of Che or Brayford. Add in a LB if really necessary although Freeman could have done the job there in my opinion.

I don't disagree but the point I was making is that it's not about how many players you can sign but it's about the quality of said players in their respective leagues, only time will tell. Lets hope that because we know fuck all about them that it turns out to be a good thing.

What a contradiction.. "Done a job".. You're demanding quality yet are happy to play a RB who until last week was a backup right back at LB. Jesus fucking wept

So our new look potential first choice back four now consists of one transfer listed player, Freeman and two loan players in Ebanks-Landell and Lafferty. What a joke after raking in over three million for two players.

CW said we had the best two full backs in the division in Brayford and Hussey, I bet he doesn't think that now after Hussey's recent performances. Due to this horrendous signing, he has had to go out and sign another full back today,.
McFaz was desperate to sign for us, however we missed out through through penny pinching and end up with the desperation signing of Ebanks-Landell at the last minute on deadline day.
Just another sad day in the seemingly never ending demise of this great club.
