That ? Gerrim in

Love you man

Great bloke too. Spent many an evening having tea with him and his lovely wife Linda growing up. Still used to see them and his kids up to around when I was 14-15 even after they moved to Kilham, near Scarborough when I sort of lost touch - it was not long after Lee got picked up by SUFC and went on to have an injury plagued career but probably earn a lot more than his Dad (transfers etc).

I have seen Lee a few times since in various place and always good to chat but not seen Colin for years

Believe Colin and his wife live in Portugal now. He was running a car dealership in Bridlington but they are both now retired over there.

Lee is also living overseas - in the States - he was coaching at the Derby County Academy and managed non league Loughborough Dynamo but now works and lives in South Carolina, coaching and general manager of a development team

Colin was one of my heroes growing up which made it all the more surreal when I was playing football in his garden (with his other son Mark who I went to School with - knew Lee really well too - 2 years below me) with him and Glenn Cockerill; who lived next door but one!

A real pity about Lee Morris. Of all the players who came through our youth system he impressed me the most (possibly with the exception of Kyle Walker and briefly Wayne Quinn). But for injuries he would have been a top flight player.

Blimey, never knew that.

It always seemed strange to us at the time that Keith never took the pens when Morris played.

Any stats on the ratio of pens between the two when they both played, Silent ?
Morris scored 35 penalties in the league, missed twelve but often scored in the rebound off the keeper. I believe Edwards took just one penalty and scored

He was a top flight player for Derby and scored there I recall; a winner v Spurs. However he was severaly hampered by unjuries but still played 90 odd games. He was going to sign back for us after he left Derby but Leicester offered a bigger contract and with his injury issues was right to take. He barely played for Leicester. I remember him him then signing for Yeovil and tearing Forest to shreds in a playoff game at the City Ground but it was not long before he got injured again. Soon after he was playing part time in the non league circles.

I think he had packed up by age of 30 ish.

Still as I said probably earned a lot more money in 10 years in the game than his Dad did in 20.

Wasn't it the Leicester transfer that prompted Warnock to have a rant about Micky Adams and Dave Bassett?

Yeah he agreed to sign back for us and then Leicester came in and offered more money and a longer contract. Adams/Bassett were at LCFC at the same time and Warnock was not happy with how they went about it.

Morris was brilliant on his day. As someone else said he looked 63 back in the 80s. Two particular memories for me are when he trooped off the pitch disconsolately when he was subbed by Steve Wigley against Blackburn in 85, and how absolutely gutted he looked when we lost the play-off to Bristol City and were therefore relegated in 1988 despite his very good goal.

Bought my first car off Colin in 95. Lovely bloke, and was a bit star struck as he was in the United team when I first started going with my dad. To be honest....I wanted. VW....but bought the Peugeot solely cos it was him!

Watched his lad and Curtis play in the same Brid Rangers team until they both got taken to United about 14 I think it was.

Happy days.

Loved Colin. A top top player on his day and he was an old fashioned winger who loved to get chalk on his boots, knock it past the full back, get to the by line and pull it back for King Keith to apply the coup de grace. A fantastic double act were King Keith and Magic Morris. They gave me many happy times as a young lad stood on the Shoreham and for that i will always have a special place in my heart for them both. Many happy returns Colin. Hope the missus treats you well on your birthday...!!!

Great player always remember him standing out when my dad used to take me when I was little always seemed to make things happen, had a smashing perm as well.
