How can we change things?

I will go to get behind the team every week. But the nagging doubt creeping in already is that this is the season when it goes off the scale of horrific. Even under Weir and Adams I thought we had some decent players who were just not performing.

These players are giving me the impression of just not being good enough for this level.

Let's hope so, we haven't played the easiest teams in our first 4 fixtures but we should have got more than one point if we are going to be challenging for the play offs by the seasons end at least.

I think it`s a tragic mark of how gash we are in every respect that a Blades fan says "we haven`t played the easiest of teams in our first 4 fixtures"
Jesus H Christ either on or not on a fucking bike.
Division fucking 3.

It wouldn't have mattered who we played in the first 4 games of the season, the changes made pre season meant we were going to struggle anyway. Do you think it was a coincidence that we didn't play anyone of note in the pre season games ? It's a good job we didn't, but it was done like that in the hope the players gelled and hit the season with a few wins in order to build confidence. No-one thought it would be like this but we need to stick together and see this through until the tide turns.

Nothing embarrassing about protesting. If everyone who had a tantrum on a forum actually proactively sought to address the situation in a publicly organised manner, then that would be a lot more productive than having 500 threads an hour on a football forum about how shit everything is.

Of course, as soon as anyone puts their head above the paraphet and suggests such a thing, they get derided by the very same individuals who sit there having hissy fits about everything.

Therefore we end up with what we deserve.

I do t have hissy fits about everything, but fucking protestors get my goat. Instead of protesting any chance someone could come up with an action plan.

I know, I feel we are at a low point saying that but Bolton have won every game and Millwall will be in the Play Offs. There's no hiding from the results against the other two though but we are where we are and unfortunately have to accept that.

The board might start panicing if zero season tickets were purchased by late July. No fans, no club for them to f*ck up. Maybe that is what it might take.

Changes need to be made on the pitch. I think one biggie has been sorted out and that's the goalie, need to look at dropping sharp or Clarke, both will feel hard done to especially if it's Clarke as I think he's been great (tap ins at Bolton aside) but it isn't working...

Go back to pre season formation if we're at home, pitch is too narrow for football..

I just think when we win, we will win so ugly that other types of fans will create a different pressure, we won't be seeing passing football, some are already confused at what they're seeing, old gits like me have seen it all before..

I do feel We jump on the backs of the players too soon, I understand the frustration after being down here so long but there were a few boos after the bolton game I mean come on..

We have tried all manor of recruitment and seem to now be on the take from below and around us method, problem being these players are used to playing infront of 5-10k now theyre in front of 17-20k and terrified to put a foot wrong.

As for Dropping Sharp, why not? Adkins did it when his form dipped and he forced his way right back in and scored for fun

Hi, new here!
This isn't a thread aimed at attacking the manager for his tactics because despite mistakes so far it is evident that there are other factors at play causing our downfall over the past 10 years. Some people are already calling for Wilder to be sacked but I don't believe that this will improve our results at all.
The board need to go, we need a new chairman who actually knows what he is doing. How can we, as fans make a change? Stop buying tickets? Protest, although maybe not a car park one as they tend to be a bit embarrassing?
Interested to hear your thoughts

Well...we can change things by not over-reacting when we are in a bad patch. That applies to the Board and the fans equally.

The Board have screwed up perennially with the premature sacking of managers since we left the Prem. I don't like the way they've mis-managed things at all or "asset-stripped" the club of its best players since 2005 and severely hampered our chances of getting back. Given a choice I'd fire the lot of them - but there isn't a choice - not yet anyway - and no amount of shoe-waving in the car park will change a thing at Board level. All that will happen is it will increase the pressure on Wilder and they will sacrifice him to stop blame falling in them - just like they have done previously with other managers.

Wilder is a decent bloke with the potential to be a very good manager for this club. He's straight-talking and will not be afraid to make difficult decisions. He's overhauled the squad. Not all the decisions he's made are good ones. But he's showing us that he's not afraid to change his mind on players if they deserve to be dropped or reconsidered for a starting place.

He's made very good signings in Duffy, Clarke and Fleck. (And Moore so I believe). Some of the others don't look anything special tbh - but let's give him and them time. There will be more incoming and we are only 4 games in for heavens sake! I know it's been a very disappointing start but shit happens in football and this isn't a crisis - so don't treat it as one or you'll make things a whole lot worse!

If things don't improve over the next 8-10 games then fair enough - but for now just show a bit of faith in the manager - PLEASE?

Should we consider getting more of our ex pros roles at the club? The likes of Whitehouse, Kelly, Ward etc. Possibly even give one a place on the board?

The owners don't look like shifting any time soon so is this possibly a way of bringing some identity and meaning back in to the club?

It's not the manager I doubt despite some errors he's made. I don't believe things will improve until we have new owners no matter who the manager is.

Just to be clear it's not Wilder who I have the problem with. He's made some errors (pitch size) but all managers do. Over analysing these errors leads to too much chopping and changing which will harm our chances of success. I don't think he should take the brunt of the blame and 4 out of 8 being good signings isn't a bad hit rate.
