Really saddened by this, not by recent performances but by the fact that is hasn't worked out since the initial loan spell. The bloke was desperate to come back here, we were desperate to have him. Football isn't all about sentiment but as fans we have every right to feel disappointed every now and then, particularly when you see a player loaned out who, at one stage, really desperately wanted to fight for the shirt. That passion shouldn't be knocked and is something that has been sorely missed in many other signings in recent years.

Go to Burton on loan, confirmed by Rob Staton on twitter

How Clough works and how he blows in the wind with CB players he signs , ( Butler ). Could a part exchange be worked on in the background . Clough has method in his madness even with ex MKD players.

Just a thought that was mooted out of Burton 2 weeks ago.

UTB

Freeman to be given a chance? the lads got a lot to prove but still think he's a decent player.

One thing is for certain, this is the only way he was ever going to Burton - they certainly can't afford him. In fact, sod it - let him have a cuddle from Uncle Nige and then we'll have him back when hes bang on form again...!!

Ridiculous he's not at his best but he's still one of our better players. Another Clough hater who is against anyone signed by the man, even if it is to the detriment of the club.
I don't & never did hate NC so dont think you know my opinion on anything and assume cuz it differs to yours. If he was back to his best then yea fair enough- he ain't. He don't tackle, can't cross, can't b arsed, but hey he's not the shittest of the shit so we'll keep him !

I have really mixed feelings about this. Brayford was brought in for his attitude just as much as his talent. I understand the whole Clough part but it's not very often a player is poor in league 1 but gets a loan move up to the championship.
I'm a massive Wilder fan but you can see already that he's going to upset some players. He said Brayford was the best right back in the league and that Che would tear this league to pieces, it appears that if he's going to get players to run through brick walls for him then it's probably going to be his signings.

If Clough was so desperate for Brayford couldn't we have enquired about getting Mcfadzean, I'm sure Clough would have done anything to be reunited with his boyfriend

That could be something to revisit next summer.

It's a shame he couldn't rediscover his form, but it's probably for the best if it allows Wilder has bring in the players he wants.

It's a shame - if he can't take the pressure though he's best off elsewhere.

Thanks for all the great moments John, good luck in your next job.

Really cannot understand the witch hunt against Brayford, had a bad injury, and is fighting his way back, agree he has not made the heights off his loan spell, but my view he will return to what we saw in the loan spell. To me he is one of those players that need an arm round the shoulder when things are not going well. Players react differently some take a bollocking better, and in turn play better, others need an arm round the shoulder. Different personalities, and that then comes down to man management. There is not currently a better right back at the club, so why get rid, and have to spend money on a position the will need filling, when money would be better spent in sorting the midfield out.
I see a player who has yes lost form but more lost his desire and commitment, he has looked much worse since Wilder took over and I believe he hates the hoof ball tactics currently deployed at the Lane - it's not really making any player look decent!! Hope Wilder reverts to the pre season formation

Agreed, football is current, not drenched in the past and sentiment.
He had his time, the hype was way way overblown. The current version of John Brayford is frankly, abysmal compared to the former version.
A sensible move from a practical playing angle and certainly from a financial ' value for money' issue.
No tears here, that's for sure.

I would be disappointed if Wilder were not "upsetting" the players. Perhaps if they stopped playing shite and maybe even won a game he wouldn't need to. I'm not having any bollocks about the players, whether it's the manager can't motivate them [motivate your fucking self you overpaid, overrated prima donnas] or the manager is "falling out" with them. Of course he will if you don't do your fucking job, you pampered, sensitive, spoon fed cunts. Start earning the right to be called professional footballers and until you do, keep a very low profile about how upset you might be.

Bruised ribs ,Beatty flu , Billy is also in a slump has he been told he is also on the way.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit . It's clear that a Billy , Clarke partnership up front ain't working .

Could do with one of them coming off the bench as a impact player .

No half measure . Wilder will be the saint or sinner . Millwall game important as a building block as IMO we just need to keep a clean sheet .

BT wasn`t in a slump as I recall, neither was Squinny,Murphy,Che,Harry,Kyle 1 and 2 etc etc. Billy off? That would be odd given Wilder just made him Captain.

I agree with the 'he wasn't what he was on loan' comments and something has clearly affected the lad most probably the bad injury and the right time to move him on, however I am not concerned that Freeman may well be the new RB, he was apart of the team that nearly got promotion in the 90 points season and has contributed with goals and assists when given a decent run and a good backing. Some systems and styles don't suit everyone but we have to at least try? Give Freeman a fair crack of the whip I say

Are you thinking of Lowton who was the RB in 2011-12 when we got 90 points? Freeman was signed by Clough
