Just checked our play off final team (the one he decided to play craig beattie up top on his own) in that squad was kenny, morgs, killa, naughton, walker, ward, quin and halford. Sure he had beattie for half that season and we still finished below a very poor birmingham city side.

Chris Wilder will get us promoted, if we have patience and give the guy the time he needs.

Wilder's a very good manager and needs a few months to get his squad together and then bedded down. Don't forget, he also has to ditch the shit that's been accumulated by other managers, over the last 3-4 years, to rid us of wage stealers, and so free-up valuable resources, that can then be used on squad building.

Putting together a promotion-ready team is no 5 minute job - It takes time. Wigan, last season had a very bad/slow start, before they eventually took off in January, and then blew the rest of the division out of the water.

Wilder will be hurting from this, as we all are, but throwing your toys out of the pram will achieve precisely nothing.

Be patient, be supportive, but most importantly, don't get on Wilder's and the teams back. The season is only 3 games old, and there is a long way to go, and Wilder has already said that as many as 4 new players are still to arrive imminently. His team is still therefore nearly a third incomplete.

I'd say we don't need ten games to be pissed off. I'm pissed off now. In fact, I have been pissed off for some time now.

Yet we have changed most of the starting eleven, and the manager.

He was and is a good manager. he did miracles with the shite players that finished 11th last year.

Tactically very good, played good football when he had good players at his disposal, when he had lesser players at his disposal he still managed to grind out results. If the club hadn't sold Maguire, bottled it on signing Coady and actually fronted up a good amount of money to sign a decent forward we would have gone up in 2014-2015.

Clough is a top bloke, good manager for this shite level and we should never have sacked him. Good luck to him this year, hope he does well with Burton.

On that we agree, as you can tell im not a fan of his but even at the time i thought it was insane.should of got rid at the end of the previous season, if not then gave him the whole next season. Sacking after that amount of games was stupid and didnt do anyone any favours.

What I mean is Pommpey, yeah I'm pissed off now but after ten games and its still the same, then I'll be really panicking because not many teams turn it round from there to a promotion push, but that said Barnsley did. We just need to be patient and let Wilder change the squad and team the the way he wants it. He's stuck with a few from last season but also his new players like Duffy, and Hussey aren't performing either and as others have said Clarke and Sharp isn't working yet, but I do believe it can with decent service from the wings - something we've not had all season. I just hope Wilder is able to galvanise the team spirit quickly because his character seems to be similar to Harry's which works for strong characters but not always for the arms around the shoulder types.

Long for example needed a bit more support than it appeared Wilder gave him, but Wilder is obviously really annoyed right now like we all are.

Actually I was wrong. It started with Saint Colin fucking up the Premier League season and destabilising the club by being a cunt over his contract.

Compare that performance - dogged, resilient, refusal to be beaten by a side who'd turned us over twelve months before in the same fixture, to us at home against Southend. No-one was wrong that night and there's no schadenfreude to be dished out. Thank fuck Wilder engineered what turned out to be an unstoppable force but be honest, if our side against Southend (H) took on our side against Chesterfield (H), we'd be talking double figures.

Then Oxford happened... I remember being reyt relieved we were out of relegation zone! I had no idea we were about to embark on a campaign that'd yield 100 points and promotion with a month to spare!

I'm slightly smug when looking back at my comments about lets give time to Wilder. I thought we'd improve and at least push play offs (I just said we'd have a good season still) but I never thought we'd storm it! But then, we hadn't signed Lafferty and EEL back then either and Basham was playing in centre mid and Fleck was on the bench. So a lot changed, not long after that. Freeman came in too of course. Oxford at home was still the most important win of the season I think.
