I always thought that a player could be signed at any time up to 12:00 on the day of a night match in order to qualify but am now led to believe that it had to be before 12:00 on the day before.
Which is correct as I am sure we have recently had players signed on the morning of a match?

My memory isn't so good on this but didn't we sign a player on the same day we played the grunters and he went straight in to starting 11. I'm going to be up all night thinking who it was because I'm pretty sure we did.

Arturo Lupoli? c. 2009

neil Collins?
Can't remember when he made his debut but it was Andrew Davis I was thinking of. Didn't we beat the grunters 3-2 that day? I'm sure it was that game anyway. I honestly thought we were going to put 5 or 6 past them that day being 3-0 up at HT and looking comfortable. Then Blades happened!!

Wilder did mention that the rules have changed it is now 12-00 previous day.

Bit of a drama queen aren't we Jordy?

Unless 'up all night' = about 3 minutes! ;)

I seem to remember us signing Neil Collins on the same morning as we played the pigs in the afternoon.

But despite that we still won

I believe it differs for weekend and midweek games (or at least it did previously):

Weekend games - last season deadline was 1700 on the friday. It appears this season its 1200 on the friday (Wilder stated that Chapman signed at "11:59")
Midweek - Last season was 12pm on the day. I seem to remember one of our loanees signing before 12 and coming straight to the match to play, but can't remember who. This season not sure if its changed to the day before.

The fact is we have again gone into a season 3-4 players short of what we need, we have due to this already dropped 5 points.

Players sold: 1
Players signed (so far): 7

To be fair to Pomps, those figures are a tad distorted. Not all of those incoming players have cost a fee and i would strongly imagine that all of any incoming players transfer fee combined wouldnt come any where close to the fee we have received for our 1 out going. Also theres been a hell of a lot more outgoing than in since the start of the year. If we had continued that trend after the 'fuk off' list was announced in May we wouldnt have a team to field. In short this summer there had to be more in than outs following the May clearout.

Oooooh. Hush your mouth LS26Blade. Clough/Adkins/Wilder will pull us through. Just give him time/ten games/until Xmas. Then we/(some of us desperate for someone to blame) can start calling him a cunt and calling for his sacking/paying off. He's been give fucking billions to spend and has spurned the upper divisions shopping lists and is wisely investing in players who we either haven't heard much of/are good in lower divisions/are dirt cheap.

Have faith! Praise de lawd.

Wow. Just wow.

Someone for whom reality isn't attached to 'virtual'.

Thanks Weasel. Here, put this kevlar helmet and flak jacket on. Before long you'll have people offering you out because of your opinions on a football team and it's failures.

No flak jacket required. If they send the heavies round (no not Higgo and Coke Joe) i shall simply don my weasel disguise and slip down the hole again to safety.

Even clubs where all the transfer business has been satisfactorily concluded in good time for the start of the season aren't thereby guaranteed to start with a 100% record after two games. It doesn't work like that.

An average of two points per game wins the league. We're three points off the pace.

Value of players sold- £1.8million (ish)

Value of players bought- £300k (ish)

Players out- 16

Players in- 8

We have been trying to sell 7 since Wilder rolled in. Instead we’ve paid off a couple. A shocking indictment on the calibre of player we have that we can’t even give them away.

Could do with another 3 out (say Coutts, Woolford and McNulty) and 3 in of better quality.

Was it Collins on loan from the Dirties Saturday morning, who then went straight into our team at the Sty...played rubbish and we still won?
