True Rodley,

Hence why although Wigan are a small club I can totally understand why he'd prefer Wigan over both Sheff Utd or MK Dons.

However if you have 2 teams (us and Scunthorpe) in the same division you decide which team is more likely to get promoted and is more likes to stay there once promoted.

Salary levels (bonuses) are a big attraction but also things like location, training facilities, stadium, reputation, ambition, manager have an effect too. If he joins Scunny then good luck to them, their Chairman must have done a fantastic job at selling the club.

Scunny finished a LOT stronger than us last season and still have the manager in place who was responsible for that finish. They also seem to be willing to chuck a bit of cash at it. Whereas we are undergoing a rebuild under yet another manager who probably won’t last 12 months (if our track record is anything to go by). I wouldn’t say they are any less likely than us to get promoted.

Ooooh we're getting Steve Cotterill?!

That's....that's awful news. Just awful.

A portion? He had all of the transfer window and pretty much the perfect relatively empty template to work from so in my eyes it's slightly dissapointing there's still 4 players to get one game into the season. He wasted 2 slots of the 7 he brought in though sadly, in Wright and Wilson. All new signings should have been for the first team and first team only in my view. Anyway they're the only real gripes.

So one main gripe and then some other gripes? :)

Barney, you really ought to cut Wilder a little slack. His most recent interview on Bladesplayer makes it abundantly clear that he's happy to be a pain in everyone's backside in order to make this club a better proposition than it has been. You seem to create timescales that only you imagine are achievable, and that when Wilder doesn't tick your imagined boxes by bringing in the right players he's somehow gone down several notches in your estimation. I bet you think he wades into the offices of other managers and screams, "Do you know who I am?", expecting other clubs to be suitably impressed and just hand over their prize possessions without so much as a sign of resistance?

No matter how poor you think Wilder's recruitment has been, snapping away like a Jack terrier won't make the slightest bit of difference to what needs to be done. Wilder's clearly not happy, and I'm happy about that. I want a manager who'll bark, and moan, and remain focused about his objectives. That's how it should remain all the while Wilder is our manager. Anything less and we're in trouble. UTB

That's it stand down lads, it's too late to sign him now! I don't know why we do it, but we always seem to sign players at the back end of the week giving them no time to train with the squad before matchday.

We should wait till next Monday to sign him now, let him watch the Southend game and then he'll be fully integrated for the Millwall game and with a added bonus of saving 3 days wages.

Jesus Christ.

Here's an idea, why not quote the whole post that it gives context to the statement that you are singling out and taking the piss out of?

Basham is decent enough technically but he lacks strength and physicality which Morsy provides, but who is also limited in terms of passing and technique.

Better?
