I hope that he is the next one that is rumoured to be out of the door.
He does not fit into any of the roles that Wilder seems to want to play within his formations, although his effort cannot be faulted, it is apparent to be and all that he is neither a natural wide man or striker.
If anyone offers more than £400k I would offload, save on what I assume is an excessive wage and buy a recognised left winger.

He is another one who has failed badly to make any sort of impact and if anything, seems to be regressing.

Pretty sure that as soon as he stops wearing the red and white stripes and signs for another club he'll have 15-20 goals in a promotion chasing team.

Done would be a good striker to bring off the bench - plenty of energy, would make tiring defenders uncomfortable and force errors. Not a winger, not a left back and other than sheer endeavour doesn't bring enough to the table for a place in the starting XI.

It's a puzzle because Wilder signled Done out about playing in the wrong position...then goes and plays him in 'the wrong position'... !?!?!?

I know some will say the formation changes/4-2-3-1 etc etc...but he's playing on the left basically in't he?

Done is one of the few in the side who has natural pace....his problem when wide left is that he has no 'trick' and is incapable of beating a full-back. Pretty fundamental for a winger I reckon.

Done will score 10-15 any season playing up front, unfortunately for him he's 4th choice for that role.

We've hardly ever used him right. Played centrally, possibly behind the front two, he'd be an entirely different prospect. I've got a lot of time for Done.
CW did state at the start of his tenure..no more square pegs in round holes

As I said a few weeks ago... impact player, no more. Ideally. Bit of an expensive impact player though so I'd consider any offers.

And for the thousandth time, he hasn't got pace.

He's a striker for me end of story - now Che has gone we need to buy or loan a good quality winger mad Done, McNulty and DCL are great back up or alternative options to Sharpe and Clarke - I think Done is a very good player and he works his socks off - wasted and out of sorts playing wide

He really is poor out wide embarrassing.
He is an instinctive striker either start him or leave him on the bench.
Stop making him look twat by playing him out of position

ore ridiculously he said it in his pre-match interview....a day before.

Add it to 'pathway for youth' and 'not selling our young players'

Since Adams has gone. We can now use Done as a striker and bring 2 wingers in

Done was not very good on Saturday and I'm being kind because it's not his fault and I like him, now Adams has gone we need two LM because Done should not play there ever again, lets hope CW can see this.

I would've chucked Done up top on Saturday instead of Sharp just to give their dominant defence something else to think about. Putting Scouggs onto the wing shows how short we are in terms of midfielders, we need 3 more midfielders and 2 of those need to be creative one way or another, through the middle and outwide.

I actually think our CB situation is more or less sorted, although another one wouldn't go amiss. Lets get the midfield sorted so Done can play in his best position when required and hopefully this will put our defence under less pressure anyway. On a side note I'm really impressed with O'Connell and think he'll become a huge fans favourite.

You'd think he'd look a lot better on the wing having played there for all his career bar 2 seasons.
no that's not true. He's played traditional full back role and central defence as well. And it was when he was moved to a central striker role under Hill at Rochdale that he started banging them in big time. He's now been wasted for the last two seasons either on the wing or chasing lost causes up front and I'd hope Wilder would not fall into that same trap.

By all accounts Duffy can perform on the left and Done is better on the right than on the left. Swap wings and see what happens.

Indeed - thought this during pre-season.
It's all right CW saying Done was misused at the back end of the season by Adkins - I think he is misused in any way he is being used under CW.
If Bash stays in CM, I also think that is wrong.
We will end up being very average if those 2 play regularly in the creative department of the team.

Just have to hope CW works his magic on the players.

Basham, like Done, tries his bollocks off, unfortunately they just don't create anywhere near enough, the only chance we have of any of them creating anything is if Done plays up top and how unlikely does that look all things considered? We desperately need a minimum of two creative players bringing in so we can start to look anything like a promotion looking side.

Well if he's already played as a traditional full back and in centre of defence in his career, he's got no excuse for looking so shit at wing back last season then.

Done is a forward, he would get 18-20 goals if played a full season up top, he would also cause more problems than Billy but he's not a Blade so that won't wash with the fans. I think CW has made a mistake in making Billy captain, he should have waited and to me has done it for the wrong reasons. Hope I'm wrong but Billy and Clarke as a partnership won't flourish because of the lack of pace and movement. 4 players still needed IMO to make us a top 6 side.

I don't think Done is a 20 goal a season striker and think he would only equal the amount of problems that Billy causes to defenders........and that has nothing at all to do with whoever is a Blade.
I don't think he is a clever enough footballer, even though his finishing is good.
It's not even like he has outstanding pace......i'd put him in the quick, but not genuinely pacey category.

I believe that in a genuine "promotion squad", Basham is a squad player for CM and Done is a squad player for CF, neither are starting eleven. Scougal shouldn't even be featuring on the bench in L1 as he's proved beyond reasonable doubt, that he cannot be infliuential.

I still think that we need GK, CH, CM, LW with some decent quality, strength and pace ( except for GK that is ) to be realistic promotion contenders this season .......

Was worried I was the only one that though this.

Making Billy Captain limits our options IMO.

Thought he was poor by his standards Saturday, yet not subbed. Hope this doesn't set a precedent.
