Yesterday's match was Wilder's first defeat of 2016. First game of the season against a team who played a division above us (they have good players such as Pratley and Wheater) and it was always going to be a tough match for us. We played well and werent afraid of attacking. We had three good chances (I see usual doom mongers who werent at the match pointing out at the stats that we had no shots on target but dont realise that Bolton could have been 2 or 3 down before their wonder strike). In the 2nd half Bolton played a system to restrict us from playing and it was hard for us to get chances.

There are 45 games to go and I have a good feeling that Wilder will get the team to be more attacking minded than in the last few years and get us into the play-offs at least

Real Madrid wouldn't have broken them down in the 2nd half.

Still think we need a couple more signings - liked Fleck, a fucking million time better than Flynn.

We didn't manage a shot on target that has to be the biggest worry.
A dangerous looking chance is much much better than a soft shot on target. If you werent at the match, then look at the video. Bolton changed tactics in the 2nd half making it hard for us to create chances

After the initial onslaught, we just ran out of steam. (mentally and physically) But if we're gonna play the high tempo game, we need to take our chances when we get them. Because there will be flat spots where opposition keep the ball.

I think we'll get better but we need a couple of players at least to challenge for promotion.

I know they won but how shite were Bolton?

We ran out of steam quite early, I know it was the first game but that was a tad worrying.

Adams should've started instead of Done who needs to be played up top if he is to be played at all. In fact he could've gone up top yesterday in place of Sharp or Clark as both were very quiet.

I agree to some extent Silent but we know they had Howard in the net who is very suspect to long range shots at goal so i was hoping we would test him with a few pot shots at least

Fleck tried twice, one was deflected for a corner, his free kick was too high, Sharp tried one from distance but it went high

That the Fleck one where he played a one-two (Not sure who with?) on the edge of the box? That was trickling in the bottom corner i reckon before the deflection

Sadly teams parking the bus will be and has been a feature of many away sides at the Lane - something we need to be able to deal with if we want promotion. That and closing down shots from outside the box - far too many conceded in this way over recent seasons (I have no confidence in Long but they shouldn't be getting these shots in at him with such regularity - the outfield players equally culpable).

This is going to be a long , hard and ultimately disappointing season for us .

A tactically inept manager who is clearly out of his depth . A goal keeper who is the worst in the football league . And a team who lack spine , bottle , talent , goals and desire .

Add to all this the fact that we have a fan base who use profanities , sing and dance , who don't respect their elders/betters and who have the timerity to treat match day as something to enjoy .

We are flpiping flipped :(

I am looking for a change from last season where we were unable to make a comeback falling a goal behind made for a certain defeat.

Sorry but I'd rather play shit every week and win

He's done exceptionally well

The previous season exuberance has been smashed in accordance with Bramah Lane boardroom rules

The shots/ shots on target ratio remains abysmal

The excitement level continues to be zero
We shan't be expecting too much from now on and that's just how the boardroom like it

Are you a Blade or a pig? Serious question, you come across like a 14 year old grunter who's only here to make mischief.

Shouldn't you sign off with 'WAWAW', thought that's what all the hip kids down at the sty were saying these days.

???
Where did I suggest that we play sexy football every week and lose? To me points are more important than style of play

What I am trying to say is that from what I saw yesterday, I think Wilder's style of play will be more effective than any of our managers in the last few years

More chances increases our chance of scoring more goals

OK I have been out drinking, but is the original post just a whooosh wind up?

We played really well for first 20 minutes but other than Clarke nodding wide (should have scored and really good chance) and then a cross shot that just evaded same player; I cannot recall many clear chances. I think this notion that CW asserted that we should have been out of sight is a little misleading. We were much better than them but it was hardly chance after chance.

After this spell other than the Done header which was a decent half chances; I don't think we had another chance all game? To have one shot on target all game is poor and not good enough however you dress things up. We had nearly nearly 20 minutes with (12 minutes and then the nearly 7 of stoppage time) against 10 men and created absolutely zilch in this spell and barely got in the last third with any conviction.

Our style of play was very effective early on but the last 70 minutes we were no different to last season really. Will be hard to keep up the opening intensity unless we sigh some more pace and power. We are still an incredibly slow side and this makes it hard to press and even harder to break quicker and create. Bolton had two steady centre backs who will be decent at this level but after decent start we did not have a clue how to break them down. That was a concern.

We will know more after the next 3 home games in a week I suppose but I think Wilder has to bring in more players if he wants us to be effective playing way he did at Northampton. The side lacks pace, power and guile still but should have enough still in likes of Clarke and Sharp to get goals in most games. I think those two were ineffective yesterday and will play better.

What a fucking stupid and embarrassing post - you must be either a pig WUM or a brainless fuckwit, probably both.

Six debuts yesterday against a team who were a division above! Rome wasnt built in a day but the attacking intentions were there. They scored a wonder goal and then sat back!
