For all we know he could have deteriorated beyond recognition. Still, would've been nice to see him given one last chance seeing as though we're still not over the "creative midfielder crisis".

Hi all

Not been on here a while, just checked back in as it seems you're loaning (with a view to selling?!) Alan Quinn to us. What's he like as a player then? Our left hand side is rubbish at present and we've had to move our great right wing Walters there and play another converted striker Danny Haynes in his vacated spot on the right. So any help on the left would be much appreciated!! He sounds like a good acquisition by reputation, although a few ITFC fans are a bit miffed.

Quite happy with it myself, Alan Lee was on the bench for Cardiff before he came to play for us, so sometimes its just a move to the right environment I guess?! Not sure why Robson has frozen him out to be honest, ideas?!

Other than that, you asked us to mess up Sheff Wed and Leeds last season, well we relegated Leeds at Elland Road and Sheff Wed beat us to Jeffer's expensive signature, only for him to get injured long term (again):D:D

He isn't bad, i amongst a lot of Blades am sad to see him go to be honest. He is a decent player who hasn't been given much chance if any this season. I have also heard you have agreed a fee with us for him

Yeah I heard about 300,000 to 400,000, which is about what we paid for Gavin Williams from West Ham (who I'm guessing you hate even more than us now, the f*****s!) when he's fit and on form is great but he's injury prone as hell. Is Quinn the same or is it just bad luck that he's been frozen out?

good player, and like stinky i am also sad to see him go, still think he could have done a job at the lane but with robbo incharge obviously not, just hoping he doesnt get rid of stead aswell now

neither bad luck or injury, just shit tactics to be fair. Hope he does a good job for your lot just to bite Knobson in his arse

Yep, that's how we ruined Pablo Counago the first time round! Played hoofball under Royle, and Pablo isn't your hard working grafter type so he was out of the team. Now he's back for free, and actually wants to play for the club, as opposed to that greedy twit Jeffers who went to Wednesday (which made our little 4-1 surprise for them on the first day of the season A LOT sweeter )

Threads merged as you'll find some of the answers to your questions here :)

I'd hardly say Quinn is a victim of shit tactics myself, more his inconsistancy and tendendancy to watch the game go by when he's lost the ball (something a number are guilty of).

well he is never played, so how can he be inconsistent if he is never on the pitch

Because it isn't just on first team appearances, also reserves/training.

How's he going to get an extended run on the pitch when whenever he's there he's inconsistant? he's played 90+ (off the top of my head) games for us... can you think of more than a couple of games in a row he's impressed and done his job?

If he isn't on the pitch, how is he stuggling due to tactics?

I doubt anyone can really

And maybe if he was given a chance then there may not be a struggle

but i suppose he has been given his chance, just at another club lets hope he does well for them :)

Well there you go then, hence his inconsistancies when on the pitch :)

He's been given a chance at the Blades. He's played more matches than Robson has managed... yet Mr Robson has had far too much of a chance?

I do hope he goes and does well at Ipswich, he can be a great player when he wants to be.
I just don't see the massive issue with letting him go when he's failed to hold down a regular place in the team since 2004 and clearly isn't in the plans of the current manager.... Might as well give the lad a chance elsewhere and save on his wages.

We best get someone decent to replace him with these wages :)

Because Quinny did show what he was capable of on many occasions, maybe? ;)

Has Robson shown what he is capable of achieving?

Nope, but he's had less of a chance to and is currently regularly put in charge of first team games by his manager :)

The comparison was merely down the the number of games before someone has been "given a chance" :)

I know - it's exactly what I'm saying - If Quinn had only performed twice in his first 6 months he'd have been out on his arse!! I'm just saying, managers get much more of a chance to prove themselves than players so it's unfair to call Stinkyblade on that point.

Foxy obviously has too much time on his hands these days, he has started posting more frequently again :D

They do in the eyes of the people in charge, but not of the fans :)

I'm just playing devils advocate with people who say Quinn hasn't been given a chance and yet Robson has had too much of a chance :D

From the OS................

Midfielder Alan Quinn completed his permanent switch to Championship rivals Ipswich Town on Wednesday afternoon for a fee that could eventually rise to £600,000.

Quinn 28, had made twelve appearances for the Blades in all competitions this campaign prior to signing initially on-loan with the Tractor Boys last Friday.

United's Football Club Chairman Terry Robinson said: "This was a deal we had to consider, and because of our squad size and surfeit of midfield players, we felt we could let Alan go.

"He goes with our thanks for his service and we wish him well at his new club."
