I know, I know.

Anyone who is a regular, and is missing this game, I take my hat off to you, fair play.
I haven`t missed a game since 1984, around 1500 consecutive games, so missing is not an option!

My protest will be not buying a programme, food, or my regular couple of pre match pints in the ground.

I do think we will sell out, as the initial fury dies down,a similar `boycott` of Old Trafford resulted in only 5,500 travelling to last seasons cup game

2,000 tickets will not be enough they will sell quite quickly, I remember all the fuss to watch Man Utd at £50, we sold our allocation. All soccer fans are like sheep, me included season ticket holder I live in Kielder Forest, which is a 420 mile round trip, even go to away games its in our blood. Im the handsome one second on the left.

All very good but what is this soccer you talk of?

You that fat that you need two seats TB?;)
The stress of following the Blades keeps me thin.

Its a rare day out for Mrs Treeton, who used to come with me to all the games, but thankfully dosent bother much now.
I told her I would treat her to the first game, and maybe if shes good Fleetwood or Bury, the choice is hers!

Lucky woman, eh ;)

The team will benefit from a 3000 following, let's show the new players what we are all about.

Maybe S24SU can print 3000 cards to hold up stating " Fan Abuse- £30 tickets- shame you didn't go bust."

P.S. If we lose stay to applaud the team off the field. Not easy but gives a real message to Wilder.:)

No way I'd miss that game even though its Liberty taking of the highest degree.

1500 consecutive games!! Respect my friend, that's incredible
Makes my 4 missed home games in 11 seasons look part-time

Kids tickets are £12

Pretty sure their turnstiles are barcode scanned?

What a shame it would be you picked up the wrong ticket off the kitchen side that morning and your little lad has took yours! :(

Last time I went they were indeed barcode scanned, but they had people sat behind the turnstiles scanning each ticket by hand. It was a very backwards halfway-house which I didn't understand. They didn't fork out for full automation, they just bought a shitload of scanners and got the turnstile folk to scan tickets instead of rip them.

This is why the price of football is, and will continue to be, on the rise. The price elasticity of demand for many supporters, particularly loyal, passionate fans such as ours, is very inelastic, and the football clubs know this. You can make as much noise about the high prices as you like, but at the end of the day if you pay it, they don't care at all, and you have no reason to complain because you've bought it at that price. Clubs know that loyal fans simply won't miss games, and so they exploit it, just as any profit-minded business would. That's the sad economics of it, but football is a no longer just a game, it's an industry, and we the fans are the main source of income.

I agree, it's staggering, but (and I say this as slightly more clapper than slasher) why on earth have you put yourself through that for so long? Life is short and there are other things to see and do :)

How much are the prices for Home Fans though?

Of course United are a Category A game!!:D

Its just a way of life, do plenty of other things Sun-Fri.

Me & Mrs Treeton do the odd weekend round Football, London fixtures, we`ll stop down there, or any coastal fixture.

Must admit, I have missed a couple of weddings down the years, which hasn`t gone down well, but that apart am free to do what I want.

There`s people out there who have gone longer than me without missing, and some of the older brigade who used to travel away before we ran coaches.
Now that`s dedication.

To be fair one of the best views at a stadium at Bolton ,£30 quid while top end for league 1 I think for watching Chrissys first game in charge with basically a new side we need to show them we are right behind the lads .utb can't wait for the game .

FFS if some supporters want to pay £30 then that is their prerogative. If you don't then don't.

What i would say is charge the fuckers £35 to come to The Lane and see if they pay it....

I'd like to think SUFC has to much class to do such a selfish thing ,encourage away support it makes it a better atmosphere at the lane .

Can I make suggestion. Don't boycott the game, they (the team) need the support.

Just don't buy anything inside the ground. No drink or food I mean.

Hit them where it hurts.

I wouldn't anyway if it's the same fodder they put on when other things take place there. Plenty of food options within easy reach.

This is what I'll be doing. A couple of pints and a dodgy burger would normally be around a tenner so that's my money back off the ticket and if we all did it'll hit them where it hurts but we still back tufty and the lads.

I applaud the principle behind the boycott, I really do. BUT, new manager, new season, new start, new hope. Right idea; right place; wrong time.

This game needs to be about the New Blades and a show of uninhibited and fervent support. It may be a false one but it's a new dawn. That has to be the overriding imperative and, for me, far more important, on the day, than a statement about ticket prices. That can be done another time, another place.

For my part, I shall boycott all other Bolton Wanderers home games for the rest of the season.

So, boycotters (sit down Geoffrey, it's not about you) please think again. Your team needs you. Let's turn out in force, eat not a single pie; drink not a single pint (not difficult, it's not beer) and resist the temptation to buy Nat Lofthouse memorabilia. Never ever watch "Take me Out" or videos of someone knocking Amir Khan spark out again.

But...get yourselves to the match and support the lads. I'll be in the tiny boozer that sells proper ale. There's a free pint for anyone that says "You are Homer Simpson's pet lobster and I ❤️ Proper Football".
