Coventry and Plymouth are interested in signing Sheffield United's £1.25m-rated striker Jon Stead.

This is what happens when a manager refuses to play one of our best players.

If he sells Stead the guy seriously has to piss off and leave our club alone!

I agree. We'd be daft to let him go.

Can't see why he didn't put him on yesterday.

Definitely should keep him. I thought he did well in very difficult circumstances last year, and needs more of a run this year, especially given the current paucity of goals.

You can't blame him if he wants to go and play somewhere, instead of being a bench warmer for us. Personally I'd give him a start and bench Hulse.

was about to say i couldnt agree more, but after thinking about it id start stead like you say, but i Sell hulse rather than benching him. Take up a valuble bench place would that

Not often I disagree with you MAQ, but I wouldn't get rid of Hulse.

Yes he has come back and missed some glorious sitters, yes he hasn't been quite the same player we knew last season, but it is there.... we just need to get it out of him. Selling Incredihulse is not the answer, bench him for a bit and get starting young Stead.

do you fall into the category that beleive that hulse and BT can play together Robbie?

IMO one is only ever going to be cover for the other as there style of play is very similar. Stead should be the partner of the other.

Although Hulse wont be the highlest paid player in the team i cant see him being too far off the top. With the strikers that we do have i would look to cash in on either one of them to bring in finincial help to sign/pay the wages of a player that we all agree we do need.

Just My opinion there

Very good point MAQ, and yes I do agree to a point when it is put like that.

Hulse and BT are very similar, but I see no reason that they can't work together, but whether it is possible we are yet to see properly.

With regards the wages issue, its nice to see I'm not the only one who thinks about stuff like that, people assume that it is just mainly transfer fees you spend when you buy a player, but sometimes the wages can be the crippling part when you can easily afford the fee. It's a good point with Hulse being a high earner, and that may just sway me round to your way of thinking. Dependant on the price we get for him.

Is it only me that would give sharp and stead a go together? I juts think they would do well together!

Although im sure i said the same about robson and kidd

I have to agree, i do think that stead and sharp may be a good option, but unfortunatley we dont have the option of trailing things at this late stage in the season. The only possible way around it would be if they played and established a relationship with each other in the reserves, but can you really see either of them wanting to play in the reserves? i cant

If they can establish a good relationship then the speed that they would bring to our forward line and stead vision and touch with sharp's finishing that was on show in the cup earlier in the season i think would work well.

Its got to be an alternative to our current get it up to BT/Hulse let them hold it and find someone that can make a half decent run

cant knock the hulse and BT combo till its been tried, hulse holds the ball up well, just what BT has been needing really.

...............................................

I woont disregard until it has been tried, and granted if it works i will retract my statment. However i stronglt feel that their playing styles are far too similar to work well. The only way i can see it working is if they are both in the box when alot of "Quality" balls are played in, then we may reap the benefits. But in open play and without a "Quality" player feeding them with balls i just cant see it working
