Well Carney was played on the Right Wing....you swap in over - sorted.
In the previous game though last week, Carney had his most influential game on the right. So no need to swap.

But you said why play a player in a role that he isn't accustomed to. Carney is well accustomed to Left Midfield. It was a completely different game yesterday against different players so should it matter if he plays on the left or right of midfield?
Carney is not adverse to playing on the right wing, if stories are to be believed from down under.
Problem being.... people wanted Keith dropping, some wanted him never to play a game for us again....
Where are we going to find a replacement of the class we require with the same experience?
Hense its a young and promising player, if you can't play them in pressure games, they'll never ever get a game barring pre-season and nothing matches when points aren't needed.
its one thing to put him in a derby but hes only been with us about 5 days prior. Stead would have been a better option as we could easy change tactics if need be.
martain has had one game so you cant compare him to a player who has played a while.
comparing a player to another player on one performance is different than saying he had a crap game.
