As we knew previously, both Scougs and McNulty (but is the fact they've been given the nos. 8 and 7 shirts potentially meaningful?).

Of the Transfer Listed Seven - WallaceJ, WallaceK and Freeman all playing today.

But no place for either Coutts or Woolford.

Significant?

(Also possibly significant, in terms of the McFadzean pursuit, maybe? - O'Connell being given the no.5 shirt.)

Probably a forlorn hope, I know, but if James Wallace could actually get fit....

Doubt the shirt numbers mean anything at this stage.

Yeah, I think looking back on last year, the squad numbers weren't finalised until early August. As you say, probably too early to be reading anything too much into them yet.

I think the first day kit number 5 has "reserved" written on it... ;)

Its actually been retired since Morgs finished, since then, a very, very very small number 9 has been placed in front of the 5 in the same colour as the shirt in order to give the illusion that we've had a number 5 in the side.

Seriously ? I liked Morgs and all that, but jesus wept by those rules we'd have retired the first 1-11 years ago !

James Wallace looked pretty decent today and played some nice balls about. hopefully he gets a solid preseason (big if) under him cause he can certainly contribute something for us.

I've always rated the k Wallace too and think he should still be in the squad as a versatile option

Just back

Big thumbs up for j Wallace.
Like the look of hussey and Oconnel too, as well as JCL and Whiteman

With respect to stocksbridge, it wasn't much of test today, just a workout, but we did what we had to.

Thought scougs & mcnults looked a little rusty even though mcnults got a brace!

Only my opinion mind.

JCL?

Jamal Campbel Lewin?

The numbers probably give a bit of a clue as to how in favour people are (like J Wallace not being 4 despite starting and no other 4 in the squad) and Brayford will probably finally get to be 2, Adams 9 etc, but K Wallace wore 8 all last pre-season and ended up with 30 as his squad number.

So, Coutts was meant to have been ill according to CW's post-match interview. And he will be going to Spain with the rest of the squad.

Not really much of a sign that active steps are being taken to move him on or come to some sort of settlement.

But Woolford on the other hand didn't get mentioned at all. Hopefully a Hammond-type solution's on the cards in his case.
