Hmm. Thinking aloud...

Pros
  • Knows the club and expectation levels
  • Is actually a central defender
  • Is left-sided
  • Wasn't too bad in the Championship
  • At 32, has experience
  • It'll annoy Pinchy
Cons
  • Likely to command a big wage
  • May lack the hunger we need to drive us forward
  • Has nickname "Killa" when in reality is actually a bit soft
  • At 32, and having not played much last season, has all the traits of the type of signing we were supposed to be moving away from

He's an athletic player, has he avoided serious injuries? Hardly seen him since he left, but wouldn't be surprised if he was still quick for a centre half.

I'm not a massive fan of Killa because of his attitude when he left the lane as in my opinion his performances dropped as soon as he heard of top flight interest and stuff.

That said................

At this level he it is 100% no brainer that he can come in and do a job for us.

Definitely. Captained Blackburn on a few occasions too. Know they're bang average Championship but at present, we're bang average L1

It is also apparent that I can no longer type.....

In the last 6 years he's played less than 100 games.

His athleticism was his main strength and he's now 32.

I very much doubt we would be prepared to pay him the wages he'd be looking for from a final payday.

I think our only chance of signing Killa is location. He has always played for Northern clubs so is probably very settled with family and friends.

Talking of cars, I drove past Bramall Lane today and saw the registration plate 'C L1 17 T' on a Robin unreliant. I can't believe we've re signed Hammond again, fucking stupid.

Alan Nixon has apparently said the deal for Kilgallon is still on - 'slightly apart on wages but still talking'.

I'd take him now, not my favoured option but others have been signed by rivals and we're well into pre season now. We need our centre halves in place, and we could do much worse than Kilgallon.

Matt Kilgallon - fuck that- repeating the mistakes of the past for me.

We wouldn't be.

In the past we've signed players from the championship who haven't been playing, are on way back from injury etc.

Kilgallon has played regularly in the championship, played very well, and no major injuries.

Not quite getting the negativity from some on here e: Killa...if, and it's still a big 'if' in my eyes, we got Killa+McFadz with Wilson as back up/challenging em, we'd have best CB pairing for years and surely one of the best in L1!

Unless someone's seen Killa play recently and he's gone totally to pot!?!??

Saw Blackburn and Kilgallon a number of times last year and he looked a good championship defender.

Their fans are at a loss as to why he wasn't kept on.

I thought we wanted to stop signing Championship players on their way down.

Don't think he played that many games . Would be a bonus and advantage if he lived up to his nickname . Backward step for me , but it's Wilders judgment that counts .

Played 20+ games after biding his time. Can see why reservations are there, perhaps I'd feel the same had I not seen him a number of times last season.

Magic begging a hack for titbits again? Embarrassing, isn't it?...
Where's Max Goddard?
Can't see any begging to be fair, and what's the harm in asking a journalist a question?

Some people on here are obsessed with that Twitter user, more embarrassing than the supposed 'crimes' of said user.

Completely agree. He was a decent player for us but we ultimately achieved nothing with the team he played in and he must be beyond his best now.

Just another player on the way down looking for a retirement fund contract. No thank you.
