what does that mean for Saturday then, i mean if rain continues then things don't look good

From what i can gather off the weather sites, its going to be raining all week.
Good job everyones stocked up on snorkels and rubber rings:D

Yeah if it carries on which it looks likely to, it might get called off:(

Anyone hear Brian on FH last night? He said this would happen and Andy Giddings scoffed at the suggestion!

may have called it off to save pitch as best as possible for sat?

"Groundsmen at Hillsborough seen pouring buckets of water ON the pitch!! Apparently you lot are so short of dosh that the board can't risk Saturdays match being called off and the loss of Sky TV money. So the order was sent out to make sure tonights match was called off to save the pitch

Might be worth trying to borrow some of those cricket square covers to protect the pitch for Saturday?"

ge'or! they cant afford that for the first team! :D:D:D

Strangely enough, on the way home from Cardiff, i'm pretty sure me and Dan were talking about underwater football...

As for Monty - different story all together :D I'm sure Tino will agree ;)

Covering Up For Derby
Posted on: Wed 16 Jan 2008

Sheffield Wednesday are confident the Championship encounter with neighbours Sheffield United will go ahead on Saturday with a pitch cover set to help combat the rain forecast for the end of this week.

Hillsborough ground staff will erect the cover on Thursday morning to help ensure the game against the Blades goes ahead as planned on Saturday afternoon (12.45pm kick-off).

After referee Chris Foy decided to postpone Tuesday's FA Cup third round replay on Tuesday because of a waterlogged pitch, work has been ongoing to clear the sump beneath the Kop at Hillsborough with water continuing to be pumped away following the persistent precipitation in the Sheffield area.

The cover will help alleviate some of the problems experienced with pitch, which largely stem from the necessity of re-turfing the S6 playing surface shortly before the start of the 2007/08 season. Drainage at Hillsborough has become a problem as a result of last June's flood.

Bit bloody late covering it up on Thursday!!!
