I can't and won't believe that our budget is not competitive until proven otherwise, and the only thing I am going on is that the Duffy signing wasn't cheap and it wasn't a priority position. Also i know it's a nominal fee for hussey but that still comes out of the same pot

Hate to say it but I have a nasty feeling that things will take a serious turn for the worst this season.

Wage budget slashed, loads of transfer listed wankers on the wage bill who are refusing to shift, both parties at the club still at loggerheads and clearly still embroiled in a power battle as neither want to put another penny in, but yet wants all the control. A manager untried at this level, and playing in a league full of teams packed full of the classic but limited battlers who if they have got half a brain will realise that we have got a soft underbelly and will be easily turned over.

Last season I saw the worst United side I have seen in my life and I've seen some dross, but I can't even see how we can improve it, especially if there has been wage cuts and we are still lumbered with the same nucleus of a squad we had last year.

I genuinely fear the worst for this season.
Nah, I'm like a particularly excitable daft dog yet again

I take your Duffy point, surely Burton must have made him an offer which we must have topped to keep him in this division.
Dare I say even Charlton might have been in for him too!?
I still think it's going to be a long hard slug if we aren't willing to pay many transfer fees though.

First chance in years, and years to come to build a promition squad from such a little squad.

You just know we'll fuck it right up.

Just back from taking my three year old from the playground both really enjoyed it,warm sunny, you know a pleasure to to be out, on way back thinking about my trip to the gym tonight follwed by a few ales with the mates and im doing the quiz, happy thoughts, picked up I pad and had a little look on the s2 board to see if anythings happening, my happy mood blown out the water, think I'll read paper and read about the brexit debate to cheer me up, fuckin ell brownie, relegation? More chance Wales will win our group.
Agreed boxer how can these blades
be so negative, building a team with a new manager exciting time or should be.Ok so where in 3Rd division so let's bust it and get out!!
Promotion not relegation!! I don't know how some of these fellas would have reacted if they were around when we went into 4 div.
Get behind Mr Wilder and his blades team, the building has only just begun, plenty more to follow I'm sure.

I doubt our inept owners would oversee a relegation, that would be financial suicide. I am more concerned we have become a mid table 3rd tier club and that is well depressing, lets hope they surprise us.

There was a post on Cloughie's comments about why he wasn't going to sign Duffy but might think again later if no one else wanted him. I think it was something to do with him travelling.

I was around in the Division 4 days, being shite is nothing new.

Are you kidding? How did you react when we got relegated to the fourth? There were grown men crying. I'm guessing you were signing 'always look on the bright side of life' to them.

Our wage bill as it stands is probably higher than most L1 clubs. Therefore in the eyes of Kim Jong McCabe we have a 'competitive budget'.
That makes sense! If we arnt in the mix with one of the biggest wage bills then the manager has not done his job, that's why Adkins was sacked

So you'd be happy if we don't sign anyone else because we've already got a big wage bill and if Wilder doesn't get us up this season he should be sacked?

I've been in hospital before but I'd rather not go again.

Sorry Bush, I was just trying to make the point to Finlay that not all who are moaning have been going for five minutes. But I've probably not said things very well, last thing I want to come across as is "bigger Blade" as I can't abide all that bollocks.

Definitely winding my neck in now, enough to deal with today.

Fair point crabby and I'd suggest that, if you take out the trolls, most of those moaning have been supporting us for a long time.

Of course I was I'm always a half full rather than half empty, I like to think I am a positive and realistic blade.
Had a season ticket for 50 + years and am as enthusiastic about next season as I always am. COME ON YOU BLADES.

I'll agree with the positive bit.

There was me thinking the players report back tomorra
Didn't Wilder in one of his first interviews state that he wanted his squad in place before training begins on June 23rd.
Looks like a few wrenches have been thrown into his plans, players not leaving messing up plans or the money available is mid table competitive, not top of the division competitive.

I would not rule out anything this Season at either end of the table where we are now.

However if I was forced to bet on it I would go for a finish around the same position as last season.

Wilder already made his bed on the day he was appointed when he said he'd be happy with the play-offs.

I don't think we'll get relegated next season but it wouldn't surprise me.

The power of the arguments presented has now convinced me we will be relegated by Xmas.

Next season we will probably slip again and by 2021 we will almost certainly be in the Bostick-Uno-Sherpa Van Master-Evostick premier league losing to Hallam FC every week.

We might as well give up now then, eh?
