You must be fucking joking Walthy!

As a 16/17 year old I went to every game (bar Norwich away as I was at Aintree for the National) and I can honestly say I don't have the slightest wish to re-live any of it.
Had a shite day at Aintree ? ....................

No. It was, literally, the LAST time I backed the winner of the race when RagTrade and Red Rum crossed the last together and they were the two horses I'd backed. Never made money on it since.

We won away at Norwich I think.

Indeed we did. Perhaps if I'd have missed all the away games we'd have stayed up!

We won more games after we'd confirmed our relegation than all the rest of the season (or nearly anyway) including a win at Leeds. I think I returned from Elland Road (a night match) to tell my dad it was worth getting relegated to see us win against the Leeds bastards (the sort of thing you might say at 17 I suppose), only for him to utter the immortal words "Don't be fucking stupid lad".
Well done dad, spot on as always.

Painful memories. Great finish to the previous season, New stand, New "star" striker and two of the best kits in our history.
What could go wrong?.

It was good winning at L**ds, Great goal from Woody which stunned David Harvey

Actually, my dad reckoned that getting relegated was punishment for putting black stripes on the kit.

I remember a lot of my mates didn't like it as it was against tradition. Would love something similar now.

Was at the Leeds game, it was a long time until I saw us win there again.

Who was it who said Admiral kits looked like pyjamas? Might have been Bobby Moore but not certain. Either way, traditionalists didn't like them while the kids loved them! Same cannot be said for later innovations like back of shirt sponsors and bullshit like "Climacool".

Woody's thunderbolts, wow ! It's too painful to look it up , but what were the changes to the playing staff between missing Europe by a point in 75 and falling apart in 76 ? Or was it just they all got too old , except for Woody and TC ?

We won twice before we were relegated (Villa and Burnley home) and four times afterwards (Leeds and Norwich away, Newcastle and West Ham at home).

Those 4 wins were all in the last 6 games, which also included a draw with Brum and defeat at Boro.

Since the 1990-1991 video has got a new lease of life...

Take note of who got Citeh's first assist in the preseason friendly... didn't think at the time this video was uploaded that his grandson would be doing a decent job for us forty-five years down the line!

what a painful season that was after a fantastic season 74/75 we changed our style to accomodate a big lump of a 3rd division striker what a mistake that was im afraid building south stand did for us all our money went on that when with 2 or 3 quality additions we could have had a crack at winning the league in 75/76

I seem to recall that Shoot magazine predicted us to win the league that season. Hard to imagine that happening today but after the season we had in 74/75 you could see the logic. If only we had made better investment than Chris Guthrie.
