I'm happy to play, can someone who has me on facebook let me know if it is on or not?

There's no reason why this shouldn't be on, even in the absence of our resident organiser Foxy ;)

I think we should keep the venue the same (Pitz) until we get something else sorted permanently. Worst case scenario is that it costs us £4 each for 2 hours ??

Edit: We could potentially get another one, will let you know later.

Well we have enough and due to not having a confirmed alternative looks like paying a little more at the usual location?

Depends if the same person is on tomorrow i suppose ? we could try paying £20, like last week didn't happen :D

Gonna call it on at Pitz this week if everyone is happy with that.

Think i'm the only one around to agree :D

Tell yer dad we'll ignore his flounce from earlier and that he should still turn up ;)

Why is changing your plans due to uncertainty a "flounce"?

I'll explain, not that I have to.

Some people will know over the last few years i've had a few health scares and as such the doctor read me the riot act a couple of months back. As such for the last 6 weeks i've been walking everywhere up to 14 miles a day even when at work. It's working, i'm feeling much better and losing weight!

To find the time to do this i'm having to be very disciplined in bed times getting up early etc...(I was in bed early last night and did not watch England)

As we could not be certain on numbers or whether we could play for the full 2 hours I made the decision to go walking instead of playing football. I actually love distance walking more than playing football too. I decided to get up early and do 8 miles brisk walking....i've actually done 10 miles! :)

Unless we can be certain on numbers and playing time, late Friday / early Saturday, I will probably be making the same decision in the future.

Have fun!

Mr Flouncy :)

So you could actually play this morning, see the 10 mile walk as a "warm up" ;)

Well done by the way, it's very noticeable to see that the walking is working a treat. It does get very frustrating i agree, we only ever seem to properly confirm the game either at around midnight or an hour before.

Pitz in a bit and on then.

Need more people saying yes earlier and sticking to yes to ensure we can call on earlier... Also helps me massively with the venue.

If we could have been certain of the 2 hours i'd have been there....way the woman was talking last week that would cost us £80.00.

Se what happens today! Have fun!

That would be ridiculous and the last time they ever saw us (not doubting you by the way) - cheers :)

Ended up being £39.50 and they were getting twitchy about us spending too long on the pitch/not likely to pay.

Going to speak to a couple of other places early next week and confirm next week's location and price asap.

Bunch of arseholes. Lets bin them off and go elsewhere. No-one was on the pitch after us. I'm no businessman but don't they say in business don't piss off your customers?

How often have we used this place and now they're starting to get funny?
We've always payed - don't know if Elton hands it in though ;)

It's not just us... It's across the board... New management by the looks too.

Forgot to mention earlier, but there's a place just off J41 doing Zorb Ball.

Shall I check it out ??

A bit of a left field suggestion for a new venue. I reluctantly can't play on Sunday mornings at the moment due to daughters swimming lessons, but I thought I'd throw a suggestion in for your consideration anyway mainly because the venue I have in mind is free!!!

In the centre of Eyam village there is a new(ish) all weather football pitch, that is just as you would expect - enclosed by high fence, built in goals, marked 5-a-side synthetic pitch. No booking required, it is completely free and open for community use by the public FREE of charge.

Depending on where you live in Sheffield Eyam isn't as far a drive as you might think.

Pro's -
completely free to use synthetic five a side pitch
free parking
play as long as you like

Cons -
First come first served basis, no booking
Not great public transport access
A bit of a drive depending where you live

Cheers for the post Stan - i think it's probably a bit too far out for most of us, but it's appreciated that you flagged this little gem up :)

Thanks for the game lads..... nice to keep putting faces to names.
