I would have thought Tafazolli would have been an obvious choice, so for Wilder to categorically dismiss the rumour makes me assume he has better targets lined up

If so I'm very exited about the next couple of weeks. He implied that he would like to get a squad together by the 23rd when they report back.
 
Be will have better targets lined up as there are better centre halves in div two never mind the likes of Macfadzean who I think is the main target.

Aye but nobody mentions this Tafazolli fella bumped into Diego on the corridor outside Wilders office . Both are going to Bari on a Vespa scooter holiday , and both have got it in there heads Juve are sniffing around again .

Both mums agree and speaking to there boys respective agents on Sunday after Antiques Road Show.

Never signing , we need someone who puts there heads were it hurts , a bit like Morgan . We are in league 1 not champions league yet .

In that case, good luck to him in finding somewhere more rewarding to play his football. I suspect he'll find that difficult.

I'm comfortable now that if we're missing out on players like this due to wages, it'll usually be due to them wanting more than they're worth rather than us being tight and lacking ambition.

A mate of mine plays for Mansfield, He has spoken to over 10 clubs this summer.
 
I don't see how it's so far-fetched to be unbelievable that he's asking for 10k a week. Is it really that unfeasible to think an agent would push for that given a) our lack of CBs at the club and; b) the supposed interest in the lad. Glad we've seemingly fucked him off if he did try it though.
 
And there's no fee involved, so agents will always try for higher wages. Add that to our desperation at CB, our reputation a a soft touch and the apparent interest in him, it's not difficult to believe that they're asking for 10k+, at least after bonuses.

Who would've believed some of the wages we've paid other (shit) players recently?
 
I'm sorry but I don't believe for a second that he is asking for £10k+, we're talking about a player who has never played football higher that League Two and all of a sudden he's going to be earning a Championship wage? No chance! A Championship club wouldn't pay him £10k+.

I'm 99.9% sure someone is trying to protect their ITK status on Twitter when it's clear he is full of shit.

In forming views about what's bollocks and what isn't, I always place absolute and unwavering faith in someone whose mate plays for Mansfield and who has made a grand total of two contributions to this forum...

If true, I agree with the club's stance.
 
Wouldn't surprise me too much if that's the figure he's after, his agent has a good selling point in him getting a clean sweep of the end of season awards at Mansfield. I have a feeling this could be one of the players Tufty was talking about when he said agents are asking for crazy figures. Would love him to sign, but if he's after a money move good luck to the lad.

What stance? The only real (as opposed to imaginary) stance from our club is that we are not interested in the player. Our manager said so loud and clear yesterday. You might want to stop getting carried away by numpties who have "heard things".

He also said his stance was to not be held to ransom by agents or pay over the odds for players.
