I like how Ernie Moss became Adam Mosques in the subtitles and Ray McHale morphed into Mikhail. Early examples of foreign influence in our game :-)

Unbelievable Geoff
I was just talking to somebody yesterday about a Wolves fan that fell through the roof

I was in a pub in Blackpool many many years ago and was talking to a kid from Wolverhampton.
He was talking about being on the roof at Scarborough and the man in front of him just disappeared, he'd fallen through. He said I thought he was dead.

I said "what did you do", and he said he "almost shat himself" because he thought the whole roof was going to fall down

He said it didn't take him as long to get down as it did to get up there :D

I think I saw some footage of them falling through, it was very amusing, until you thought about the fact he might be dead. He's lucky he didn't kill someone by falling on them.

The 80's were a funny time weren't they? As in a bit weird. Quite quaint in many ways. I think a lot of that is lost now the world is a lot smaller. I'm glad we don't see the scale of nob headness in the fans though. Maybe there was less outlets for people's frustrations? I can't remember, I think I had just got a Commodore 64 and took it out on operation wolf but i was ten.

How come Warnock didn't manage to tout himself for the wolves job in that brief interview (*insert other job here)

How old was Ray McHale then? I thought he was 45 in our 4th division team?

Niel Warnock, hasn't had a year off since 1966 when he was 16, 50 years in football, well done.
Mostly watching it fly through the air or accidentally spitting his chewing gum out whilst ranting at a ref.
Oh the nostalgia. What I'd give to be watching one of his Blades teams at BDTBL now.

much better now isn't it ?

He never played in our fourth division side.

We signed him in 1982 after being promoted, but after starting that season as first choice he soon seemed to fall out of favour and didn't make mny starts from around October onwards.

However he did feature very heavily in the following promotion winning season of 1983-4.

Oh I see. I only remember him because I have a poster from the star where you collected stickers. I thought it was from the fourth but must have been the year after. I was a bit too young to remember anything much from that time.

I remember reading on another forum that the bloke still goes to Wolves matches but now sits in the disabled enclosure...

Scarborough were the first club to get automatic promotion to the football league under the new rules. Sad to see their demise, but there is an argument that this was Neil Warnock's greatest achievement.

Random fact.

A lot of Gerry Adams voice overs were done by Irish Actor, Stephen Rae, who was more famous for playing an IRA volunteer who fell in love with a transexual in the film, The Crying Game.

And more done by that ginger bloke who used to be on Emmerdale (might have Emmerdale Farm back then)

Thanks Bert, quaint retribution to one of a group of rather daft twats

Ahh the good old days of section 31 , used to be a laugh looking at them and hearing someone else's voice ,
come to think of it listening to Adams in the dail , the actor would probably be better , did you know
Steven Rae married an ex ira bomber .

Warnock commented in a press conference afterwards ..

"He was a Wolves fan and he fell on his head so fortunately it didn't do him any damage"

Strangely Neil Warnock had not been fondly thought of in the West Midlands over the years.
