Why has he been transfer listed? A young player who looked out of place in midfield, but did a good job at left back before getting injured. Both Adkins and Clough praised his attitude. Surely he deserves a chance?

Very sad if that is the case for a young player. Not sure if it will be easy to sell him though.
I don't either, although his wages shouldn't be too high so maybe not as hard to move on as some of the others.

I didn't think he deserved the extension at the time he got it.

No doubt he'll be frozen out next season now along with the rest on the transfer list. I don't think we'll miss him too much when that happens.

He'd made a fair few appearances last season when he signed it, was 20 and probably on low money. So I can understand giving him an extension.

You never can be sure how it will turn out with young players, Che has been great and Wallace hasn't, that's how it goes sometimes. We can't have them all on short contracts incase they turn into real gems and we lose them for peanuts.

Solution to that would be to offer the extension as they're on their upward curve (as we did with Che) and not while they've not really been anything other than average.

But if you wait until they are really tearing it up then they want more money and a longer contract.

Wallace was on the up, not significantly but enough to show he had potential, so can understand the new contract. It ain't worked out, but that's football.

That's where I disagree, as I said at the time I don't think he ever rose above average and couldn't understand the new contract in the slightest. We renewed Che's contract just at the right time, he showed the right signs, was and still is streets ahead of Wallace and he won't be on a huge wage.

Agree from what I saw of him. However may there's more to this than meets the eye. May be CW has some better options lined up but he is the sort of player I think we should be looking to develop. May well turn out to be a good player. Time will tell.

He was doing OK but hasn't played since December.

What exactly is his injury because virtually nothing has been said about it since.

I'm confused at the grief he's getting. He did well at LB until the injury. One of our better players.

Completely agree, early part of the season I thought our 2 stand out players were the full backs, Wallace and Freeman. I can understand putting Freeman on the transfer list, the fact he couldn't get anywhere near Portsmouths first team suggests he's gone downhill a bit. But given Wallace's age and the fact he didn't do much wrong when in the team I'd happily have him around next season, even if it's only as backup.

I thought it was one of the few things Adkins got right in playing him at left back. for whatever reason he is out, I hope he uses this as motivation to get back in and not give up like players like Diego.

SwissBlade mentioned the reason the other day.

Something to do with his injury or sommat'.
No I didn't mention a reason, just that he'd been released. My info wasn't entirely accurate but released v's transfer listed still means that he's not wanted and still needs to find another club
